Southbound Route 99 motorists should use southbound I-5 as an alternative route. Caltrans said the detours will start in westbound US 50 motorists to southbound SR 99, continue on westbound US 50, and stay in the right lane to southbound I-5 Los Angeles. Caltrans said, 'Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.' The contractor is scheduled to start the string and pavement work during the closure and asks motorists to use caution when traveling during construction times and expect commercial trucks to be traveling in and out of the work zone, officials stated.
