The seafront property, in Kyle of Lochalsh, was opened in the late 19th century by the Highland Railway Company.
Its prime spot on the 516-mile NC500 stretch has made it a magnet for tourists and locals alike, proving the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Skye.
Selling agent CCL Property hailed the hotel as a "renowned landmark location."
The hotel has been under the ownership of the Macrae family for nearly thirty years.
Murdo Macrae said: "It has been a privilege to serve guests from around the world and to be part of the local community.
"We believe that under new ownership, the Lochalsh Hotel will continue to thrive as a cherished Highland destination."
But Edinburgh Portobello Hotels Ltd has now taken the reins - promising to uphold the Macrae family's incredible legacy with a planned refurbishment.
Sonia Patel, Director of CJ Highlands Hotels Limited, said: "We are excited to welcome the Lochalsh Hotel into our portfolio.
"Its unique setting and storied past present significant opportunities, and we are committed to honouring the MacRae family's legacy with a planned refurbishment that will enhance the guest experience while upholding Highland traditions."
David Pickering, Director of CCL Property, added: "This successful sale underscores the resilience of the Highland hospitality sector and the enduring appeal of the Lochalsh Hotel.
