Muskegon man hospitalized with head injury after being hit by car

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A Muskegon man has been hospitalized after being hit by a car on Tuesday, police say. The Muskegon Police Department responded to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian at the intersection of Laketon Avenue and Wood Street around 7 p.m. on Tuesday. A 55-year-old pedestrian was found with severe injuries, police say. They say the Muskegon man was brought to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for a head injury. The Muskegon Police Department says the driver was a 72-year-old man from Muskegon Heights and has been cooperating with investigators. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. In a video , the police department suggested giving it a call. 'Hey Muskegon, you have a current or ex-Valentine and want to do something super special for them?' an officer says in the video. 'Well, have they ever talked about committing a crime, or maybe even about any active warrants they may have?' Give the police department a call to make Valentine's Day 'extra special,' he said. Love is in the air, but don't fall for fake love online They'll even provide 'luxurious transportation' (in the back of a police cruiser), 'nice silver jewelry' (handcuffs) and a candle-lit dinner (with a detective). PD: Suspect in 2 Muskegon-area robberies arrested

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A suspect in two Muskegon-area robberies has been taken into custody, authorities say. The 36-year-old Muskegon man was arrested Saturday for armed robbery, according to the Muskegon Police Department. His name was not released Tuesday. Investigators say the man was responsible for a Dec. 31 robbery of an Admiral gas station in Muskegon. He was also involved in a Jan. 18 robbery of CD Exchange, a video game store in Norton Shores, police say.
