Baseball: Taunton Muskets lose both games against Cardiff Merlins

The Muskets were the only team under the Taunton Baseball Club umbrella to play at the weekend.
They faced Cardiff Merlins at Taunton Green on Sunday, June 8 and lost both games.
In the first game, the Muskets started well and took an early lead.

However, the Merlins quickly responded and continued to score, finishing the game with a 16-9 victory.
The second game followed a similar pattern, with the Muskets taking an early lead only for the Merlins to fight back and eventually win 14-2.
The Muskets failed to record a single hit in the second game, leaving them with a 5-7 win-loss record for the season.
Jake Palmer, the Muskets' manager said: "It was a difficult day, we just couldn't get everyone firing at the same time.
"There were a few good defensive plays and some solid hits, we have things to work on, but we go again in a couple of weeks' time."

Despite the defeats, there were still two Tricky Cider Ltd MVP awards for the Muskets.
Cosmin Bilciurescu, who made his debut for the team in game two, drew a walk, stole three bases, and scored a run.
He also umpired game one.
Chris Chantrey received the other award for his performance in game one, making several plays in the field and scoring two runs with a double.
Meanwhile, the wet weather meant that the Pistols' game against Newton Abbot was postponed.
It also forced the cancellation of the youth event scheduled for Saturday, June 7.
Both Taunton teams will have a break next weekend.
The Muskets are set to host the Wellington Khaki Sox on Sunday, June 22, while the Pistols will travel to Wilson Field to face the Plymouth Mariners on the same day.
