Florida Executes Suspected Serial Killer Once Eyed for Possible Link to the OJ Simpson Case
STARKE, Fla.—A suspected serial killer once scrutinized for a possible link to the O.J. Simpson case that riveted the nation in the 1990s was executed Thursday in Florida for the murder of a woman found dead in a Tampa motel room. Glen Rogers, 62, received a lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke and was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m., authorities said. He was convicted in Florida of the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two he had met at a bar. He also had drawn a separate death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation killing of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he had met at a bar in Van Nuys in that state. That killing came weeks before the Cribbs murder. Rogers was stopped after a highway chase in Kentucky while driving Cribbs' car soon after her death. In a final statement, Rogers thanked his wife, who visited him earlier in the day at the prison, according to visitor logs. He also somewhat cryptically said that 'in the near future, your questions will be answered' without going into detail. He also said, 'President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go.' Then the lethal injection began, and he lay quietly through the procedure. The entire execution took just 16 minutes. Once it began, Rogers hardly moved, only lying still with his mouth slightly open. At one point, a staff member grasped him by the shoulders, shook him and yelled, 'Rogers, Rogers' to see if he was conscious. No family members of the Florida victim spoke to the press afterwards. Rogers was named as a suspect but never convicted in several other slayings around the country, once telling police he had killed about 70 people. He later recanted that statement, but had been the subject of documentaries, including one from 2012 called 'My Brother the Serial Killer' that featured his brother Clay and a criminal profiler who had corresponded extensively with Rogers. Related Stories 3/20/2025 1/8/2025 The documentary raised questions about whether Rogers could have been responsible for the 1994 stabbing deaths of Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. During a 1995 murder trial that drew intense media attention, the former football star and celebrity Simpson was acquitted of all charges. Los Angeles police and prosecutors subsequently said after the documentary's release that they didn't think Rogers had any involvement in the Simpson and Goldman killings. 'We know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. We have no reason to believe that Mr. Rogers was involved,' the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement at the time. Simpson had always professed innocence but was later found liable for the deaths in a separate civil case, and subsequently served nine years in prison on unrelated charges. The 76-year-old Simpson died in April 2024 after battling cancer. Rogers, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, had also been labeled the 'Casanova Killer' or 'Cross Country Killer' in various media reports. Some of his alleged and proven female victims had similar characteristics: ages in their 30s, a petite frame and red hair. The U.S. Supreme Court had denied Rogers' final appeals on Wednesday without comment. Rogers' lawyers have filed several unsuccessful appeals with state and federal courts. One argument was that newly enacted state legislation authorizing the death penalty for trafficking in young children makes clear that the abuse he suffered as a child is now taken seriously and should result in a life prison sentence for Rogers. That argument was rejected. Florida uses a three-drug cocktail for its lethal injection: a sedative, a paralytic and a drug that stops the heart, according to the Corrections Department. Rogers became the fifth inmate put to death in Florida this year. Anthony Wainwright is the next Florida inmate scheduled for execution—on June 10—under a death warrant signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Wainwright, 54, was convicted of kidnapping a woman from a supermarket parking lot in Lake City in 1994 and raping and killing her. By Curt Anderson

Killer's Last Words: ‘President Trump, Keep Making America Great. I'm Ready To Go'
Source: Anadolu / Getty Imagine being so indoctrinated in the cult of Trump that you use your last words to praise a man you've never met. 'President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go,' Glen Rogers, 62, said moments before receiving a lethal injection. Also, what does it mean to Donald Trump that a suspected serial killer is a constituent? Probably nothing, but it's important to note that an evil man spent his last breath praising another evil man. On Thursday, Rogers was executed for the 1995 death of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two. 'The lethal injection began after his message to Trump, and he lay quietly through the procedure, NBC News reports. 'The execution took place at Florida State Prison near Starke. Rogers was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m., authorities said.' Rogers, once linked as a possible suspect in the O.J. Simpson murder case, was suspected of being a serial killer. According to reports, Rogers met Cribbs at a bar, and her body was later found in a motel room in Tampa. From NBC News: Rogers also had drawn a separate death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation killing of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he had met at a bar in Van Nuys, California. And his last words, his final words before his death, would be to praise a man so divisive that only another evil person would waste their final breath on him. Simpson case, was executed in Florida on Thursday evening. The 62-year-old was put to death by lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a mother of two, whose body was found in a Tampa motel room. The Casanova Killer's violent legacy and cross-state crimes Often referred to by media as the 'Casanova Killer' or 'Cross Country Killer,' Glen Rogers developed notoriety for a string of violent crimes in the mid-1990s. In addition to his Florida conviction, he was also sentenced to death in California for the strangulation of Sandra Gallagher, another mother he reportedly met at a bar in Van Nuys. That killing occurred just weeks before Cribbs' murder. Rogers' crimes spanned several states and captured national attention, especially after his arrest in Kentucky following a high-speed chase in a car belonging to Cribbs. Though Rogers once boasted to law enforcement that he had murdered approximately 70 people, he later retracted that claim. Simpson connection still fuels debate One of the most controversial aspects of Rogers' story is his alleged—but unproven—connection to the infamous 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The theory gained traction after the release of the 2012 documentary, which featured Rogers' brother, Clay, and a criminal profiler. Speculation suggested Rogers may have been responsible for the double murder for which O.J. Simpson was later acquitted. However, law enforcement quickly dismissed the claims. 'We know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. We have no reason to believe that Mr. Rogers was involved,' the LAPD said in a public statement following the documentary's release. Before his execution, Rogers made a brief, unsettling statement. 'In the near future, your questions will be answered,' he said, without elaboration. He then added, 'President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go,' and remained calm as the procedure began. Also Read: O.J. A suspected serial killer, once examined for a potential connection to the high-profile O.J. Simpson case of the 1990s, was executed in Florida on Thursday for the murder of a woman discovered dead in a Tampa motel room, as reported by the Associated Press. He had also received a separate death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he met at a bar in Van Nuys. That murder occurred just weeks before the killing of Tina Cribbs. According to the Associated Press, Rogers was eventually apprehended in Kentucky after a highway chase while driving Cribbs' car shortly after her death. In a final statement, Rogers thanked his wife, who visited him earlier in the day at the prison, according to visitor logs. He also somewhat cryptically said that 'in the near future, your questions will be answered' without going into detail. He also said, 'President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go.' The documentary sparked various speculation about whether Glen Rogers might have been behind the 1994 stabbing deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, the ex-wife and friend of former football star O.J. Simpson. Simpson was acquitted of all charges in the highly publicized 1995 murder trial. Following the documentary's release, Los Angeles police and prosecutors stated that they did not believe Rogers had any connection to the killings of Simpson and Goldman. He was known as the 'Casanova Killer' for his charm and looks, and was also called the 'Cross Country Killer' because of murders tied to him in several states. Rogers was pronounced dead at 6:16 pm after receiving a three-drug cocktail, according to corrections officials. In his final words, he thanked his wife, who had visited earlier that day. He also offered a chilling remark, 'In the near future, your questions will be answered.' And his last words were, 'President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go.' Rogers lay still as the injection began, with only his mouth slightly open. He made no further movements. A staffer later shook him by the shoulders and called his name to check for signs of consciousness, reported The Associated Press. MURDER SPREE Rogers was tied to five victims across four states - Tina Marie Cribbs, Sandra Gallagher, Mark Peters, Linda Price, and Andy Lou Jiles Sutton. Four were red-haired single mothers in their 30s. Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two, had met Rogers at a bar in Tampa shortly before her death. She was found stabbed in a motel room and Rogers was caught days later in Kentucky driving her vehicle after a car chase. Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer - Trailer Rogers had also been convicted in California for killing another woman weeks earlier, Sandra Gallagher, a 33-year-old mom of three. He strangled Gallagher after meeting her at a bar in the 1995 killing in Van Nuys. Authorities had once eyed Rogers in several other unsolved murders across the US, though he was never convicted in those cases. He once told police he had killed about 70 people, but later recanted. Rogers gained wider attention after a 2012 documentary, My Brother the Serial Killer, raised questions about his possible involvement in the 1994 stabbing deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The film featured his brother Clay and a profiler who had corresponded with Rogers. President Trump, keep making America great. I'm ready to go. Despite the speculation, LAPD shut down any suggestion that Rogers was tied to the infamous murders. 'We know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. We have no reason to believe that Mr. Rogers was involved,' police said in a statement at that time. OJ Simpson, who was acquitted in a highly publicized trial, was later found liable in a civil suit. He served prison time on unrelated charges and died in April 2024 at age 76 after a cancer battle. ROGERS THE KILLER Rogers, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, 45 minutes from Cincinnati, targeted women with similar traits. The US Supreme Court denied his final appeal Wednesday with no comment. His attorneys had pushed for life in prison, arguing that new child trafficking laws show past abuse should be weighed more heavily. That was rejected.
