N.E.R.O. Launch Party at WWW Shibuya
On June 19, culture and sound collide at WWW Shibuya as N.E.R.O. , a new global-minded media platform, celebrates its official launch with a night of bold performances and boundary-pushing ideas. The event marks the release of the project's first ZINE, themed 'Borderless,' and brings together three rising acts from Tokyo, Melbourne and Paris.
Founded by Yukiko Inoue, former Flipper's Guitar member and longtime music writer for POPEYE and other leading Japanese publications, N.E.R.O. emerges from the legacy of nero magazine (est. 2010), a fiercely independent publication born from Tokyo's subcultural core. Now, after the pandemic's long pause, Inoue returns with a fresh vision that leans into the global indie renaissance, spotlighting artists who defy borders and conventions.
A gothic-tinged, post-punk trio channeling shoegaze textures and coldwave melancholy, laced with modern urgency. Their brooding live sets have earned cult status in Australia's underground.
A delicate, atmospheric duo merging poetic lyricism with new wave and art-pop sensibilities. With roots in Europe's visual art scene, they create cinematic soundscapes brimming with emotional nuance.
Hailed as leaders of Japan's new indie generation, the Tokyo five-piece draws from British shoegaze and dream pop, layering shimmering guitar work with introspective vocals and crystalline melodies.
Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.
Standing tickets are ¥8,500 (plus drink).
