HOW IT HAPPENED: NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas: Live updates, highlights, live leaderboard of Pennzoil 400 Berry is the first Nashville area winner in the NASCAR Cup Series since Sterling Marlin won at Darlington Raceway on March 17, 2002. Here are the winners and losers from the NASCAR Las Vegas race. NASCAR LAS VEGAS RESULTS: Who won NASCAR Las Vegas race? Winner is Josh Berry, plus full results Josh Berry earned one of the biggest victories of his life so far in Sunday's NASCAR Las Vegas race. It came in his 53rd start. He made a pass on Daniel Suarez late in the going after racing close with Joey Logano before the final pit stop. Berry will be in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs for the first time in just his second season. Ryan Preece was quiet in Sunday's race, but he tied his career best finish with a third-place showing on Sunday. His previous third-place finish came in 2019 at Talladega. Preece's top five at Las Vegas was his first since last year's race at Nashville Superspeedway when he finished fourth. Briscoe lost a wheel early in Sunday's race and lost two laps in the process. At one point Briscoe was four laps down, but was able to drive his car back to the lead lap and end the day with a 17th-place finish. Busch also had a loose wheel at Las Vegas, but his incident included a brake line issue. Busch's right rear tire flew off the car after the rim was cut down and essentially ripped the tire off the rim. Busch was able to get back on the track but hit the wall with 25 laps to go. Ryan Blaney had a strong run going despite having to drop to the back following a practice crash on Saturday. Blaney had a strong run going until he was wrecked in a four-wide situation on lap 195. Daniel Suarez was so close to earning the win at Las Vegas battling both Tyler Reddick and Josh Berry late in the race, even making contact with Berry trying to side draft. However, Berry was too strong in the final stretch of the race. Ryan Blaney crashes in NASCAR Las Vegas race after strong effort
Ryan Blaney had a strong effort go to waste with a late race crash in Sunday's NASCAR Las Vegas race. On lap 195 of the scheduled 267 in the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Blaney was squeezed by Christopher Bell exiting turn 2 and was spun going down the backstretch. While Blaney was spinning, he was hit in the back bumper by Erik Jones. The No. 12 Team Penske Ford has heavy damage on the front bumper and front splitter and has been brought to the garage. "Pretty sure it was my mistake," Blaney said to FOX Sports pit reporters. "Just a long weekend for the Pennzoil team." Blaney also had a big crash in practice Saturday when a right rear tire blew and he hit the wall. He started at the back of the field and was able to drive through the field several times during the race. Blaney is scored 34th in the running order, which may change depending on if he is able to get back on the track. Kyle Busch crashes with loose wheel, brake line issues at NASCAR Las Vegas race
Kyle Busch had a loose wheel and hit the outside wall at the NASCAR Las Vegas race, his home event as a Las Vegas native. Busch, who was running 11th on lap 113 in Sunday's Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, had the right rear wheel fly off the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. The wheel wasn't on all the way, so the aluminum alloy rim was rubbing against metal and was ground to a sharp piece and cut the tire. The rim separated from the tire and flew down the racetrack. Busch's car also had a brake line issue after hitting the wall. Busch's incident wasn't the first wheel issue in Sunday's race. Chase Briscoe had a loose wheel in the first stage of Sunday's race. Christopher Bell's team didn't get the left wheel tightened down all the way. He stopped in Briscoe's stall to get the wheel taken care of before he had a similar issue. Bell was penalized for pitting outside his pit stall and restarted at the end of the longest line. Busch has brought his car to the garage for more repairs. He is scored 36th.
