Ryan Blaney blows engine, out of NASCAR Phoenix race

Ryan Blaney's engine gave out in Sunday's NASCAR Phoenix race. Blaney's No. 12 Team Penske Ford suffered an engine failure on lap 290 of the scheduled 312 in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway while running ninth. Blaney had reported some kind of issue with his car earlier in the race but he kept running to try and be in contention for the win. After getting back to the garage, Blaney is scored 26th and will have his run of seven top five finishes at Phoenix come to an end. Blaney had also finished in the top 10 in each of the last nine races. Blaney's DNF is his first of the season. He had seven DNFs in 2024. Bubba Wallace crashes into wall after suffering brake issue in NASCAR Phoenix race

Bubba Wallace is out of the NASCAR Phoenix race after slamming the wall. On lap 267 of the scheduled 312 for Sunday's Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway, Wallace appeared to have a brake issue and slap the outside wall in turn 1. He was able to drive the car back to the garage but had heavy damage on the right side, including a flat front right tire. "Didn't have any sign until that last restart," Wallace said to FS1 pit reporters. "Three or four laps in, the pedal traveled further than it had a little bit, so I turned on my fans, came back and that was it." Wallace is scored in the 28th position after the wreck.
