‘Don't know how I played so well' – Nathan Aspinall reveals shoulder was DISLOCATED just before Premier League Darts tie

NATHAN ASPINALL battled pain from a dislocated shoulder in his Premier League defeat to Luke Humphries. The Asp lost 6-3 to Cool Hand in last night's quarter-final in Liverpool. 2 But the world No8 is thankful to have played at all after suffering a shoulder injury just ten days ago. Aspinall, who has been fighting on through the pain, explained: "I did it last week on the Pro Tour. "I did not know what I had done until I got back home but I had a minor dislocation on my shoulder. "I don't know how I managed to play so well last week. It is still a little sore but it feels good now." Aspinall was runner-up at the Players Championship 13 last Monday, winning six matches before losing to Damon Heta in the final. It was at the event in Rosmalen, Holland where he sustained the problem and it led to him pulling out the Players Championship 14 the following day. But Aspinall bravely gritted his teeth and still starred on night 11 of the Premier League in Rotterdam last Thursday. He even beat Gerywn Price before losing in semi-final to Chris Dobey. Aspinall, who is still receiving treatment on his shoulder, had a week's rest before featuring against Humphries yesterday. And he showed no signs of discomfort as he recorded a stunning 104 average. Aspinall remains in the Premier League's all-important top four, but Michael Van Gerwen is hot on his heels just one point behind him.
