LIST: What is closing in Dayton during the NATO Assembly?

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Several government buildings, parks and businesses will be closed when the 2025 NATO Parliamentary Assembly arrives in Dayton at the end of May. Starting May 21, a large portion of downtown Dayton will become the NATO Village. This area will see increased security measures when international delegates arrive in town for the summit. The NATO Parliamentary Assembly will occur May 23 through May 26. Security restrictions will begin May 21, with most ending by Tuesday, May 27. Several offices and businesses will also be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 26. NATO is coming to Dayton, here's what to know Due to road closures in the downtown area, the Dayton Metro Main Library will be closed Thursday, May 23 through Monday, May 26. This includes the routine Sunday closure and will also be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Patrons are encouraged to visit Dayton Metro Library's 16 additional branch locations throughout the Dayton area. Click here for a full list of locations. The Main Library will resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 27. DPD releases updated security zone for NATO summit Five Rivers has announced that the NATO Village security zone will affect RiverScape MetroPark and portions of the Great Miami River Trail downtown. These parks and trails will be closed to the public for the duration of the NATO Assembly from May 20 through May 27. Park visitors are encouraged to visit the various other MetroParks within the Five Rivers system. For Great Miami River Trail alternate routes, visit LIST: Public invited to forums during NATO Assembly Two offices within the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will be closed throughout the weekend of the NATO Assembly. The Concealed Handgun Licensing Department will be closed all day on May 21-23. The office will resume services on Tuesday, May 27. This closure will affect residents looking for concealed carry permits, background checks and fingerprints. In addition, the Sex Offender Registry Notification Unit will be closed starting at noon on May 21 and will resume services on Tuesday, May 27.
