You can easily break these treats into smaller pieces if you don't want to dole out an entire treat. They come in a pack of five and are available in salmon or white meat chicken flavor. Chom Chom Roller Pet Hair Remover 4.5-star average rating from 194,305 reviews on Amazon Both experts and NBC Select editors have recommended this pet hair removal tool in the past. Rather than adhesive or sticky tape, it uses brush bristles to remove pet hair from your rugs, couch, bed and other surfaces. To use, roll it back and forth to trap pet hair inside the chamber. Then, to empty the chamber you can simply push a button to open it up. Catstages by Nina Ottosson Buggin' Out Puzzle & Play 4.5-star average rating from 11,083 reviews on Amazon This cat toy, which also won an NBC Select Pet Award, is a puzzle that makes your cat work harder for their food. You can add up to 16 cups of dry food or treats, which are then covered by plastic leaves. The cat has to paw at the leaves to get them to move and reveal the food inside. NBC Select SEO editor Nikki Brown likes this toy for her cats because it forces them to eat more slowly. 4.3-star average rating from 3,463 reviews on Amazon Lowest price ever Dogs and cats can leave behind a foul odor if their messes aren't cleaned properly. This solution is loaded with enzymes that penetrate stains and lifts them away, according to the brand. You can use it on both hard floors and rugs. Cocoyo Training Pads 4.4-star average rating from 5,875 reviews on Amazon If you're still potty training your pet, these training pads can come in handy. While the top is made from plastic, the actual litter box is made from stainless steel for easy cleaning. Angels' Eyes Gentle Tear Stain & Pet Eye Wipes 4.1-star average rating from 22,912 reviews on Amazon My French Bulldog, Myko, has a tendency to tear up and get gunk in the corner of her eyes, so we've been using these tear stain wipes for a few years to help us keep her eye area clean. You can use these wipes on dogs and cats' eye area, paws, body or butt. You get 100 pre-soaked pads in a jar and each wipe has a textured pattern to help trap dirt and debris, according to the brand. 4.4-star average rating from 706 reviews on Amazon This dog bed is suitable for medium and large dogs, has a bolster around the top to make your dog feel more secure and has an ergonomic design to smooth pressure points, according to the brand. Best National Pet Day deals Inaba Churu Cat Treats These are our favorite lickable cat treats — they're great for picky eaters, and have a high moisture content that makes them hydrating for your pet. Once you cut the tube open, you can squeeze out the puree and hold it while your cat licks. These treats are free from grains, preservatives and artificial colors, according to the brand. Chuckit Ultra Ball This Chuckit ball won an NBC Select Pet Award because it has a textured surface that's great for rougher play with your dog. They have omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to help with skin and coat health, and they don't have soy, wheat or artificial flavors or preservatives, according to the brand. Adams Plus Flea & Tick Shampoo This is our pick for the best shampoo to get rid of fleas because it has aloe vera, lanolin, coconut extract and oatmeal that makes it safe for your pet's sensitive pet. It helps kill adult fleas, eggs, larvae, ticks and lice, according to the brand. However, be sure to keep the shampoo out of our pet's eyes to avoid irritation. Kong ZoomGroom Dog Brush This is one of our favorite multipurpose dog brushes. It has rubber bristles, so you can use it during bath time or on a dry coat, according to the brand. It works especially well for short-haired breeds that are prone to shedding. NBC Select reporter Zoe Malin bought this diffuser when she got her first kitten and she's been using it ever since. It's designed to calm your cat by mimicking feline pheromones, according to the brand. Malin says diffusing the pheromone in her apartment made her kitten less anxious, especially when Malin was away from home. These stick dog treats are a favorite of NBC Select updates editor Mili Godio, who feeds them to her 7-year-old havanese and bichon frise mix, Bella. 'I feed these treats to her every morning, and it makes my day to see how happy she gets,' says Godio. These treats are beef-flavored and rawhide-free, plus they have a hard texture that's great for keeping your dog's teeth and gums healthy. They're made with real beef, along with vitamins and minerals that help with easing their digestion, according to the brand. This cat food brand just recalled its raw food — try these cat food alternatives instead

This weekend, the FDA announced that two types of Savage Pet raw cat food are being recalled for potential contamination with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) H5N1, commonly known as bird flu. The brand initiated the recall itself after multiple cats were reported to have gotten the flu after consuming the products. For more information about the recall, including alternative cat foods that you can try instead. Why was the cat food recalled? On March 15, the FDA announced a recall of Savage Pet raw cat food for possible bird flu contamination. According to the recall, Savage Pet, based in El Cajon, California, is recalling 66 Large 84 oz. Chicken Boxes and 74 Small 21 oz. Chicken Boxes, with the lot code/best before date of 11152026. The FDA says the products were distributed to California, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington retailers. If you purchased these products, you can return it to the retailer to be properly destroyed for a full refund (you can also contact Savage Pet for more information). The recall follows reports of two cats in Colorado and New York who ate the recalled products and contracted H5N1, also known as bird flu. The FDA's testing process is still ongoing. However, the recall was initiated to maintain maximum safety. If your cat has been fed the recalled Savage Pet products, the FDA suggests watching for the following symptoms: Fever Lethargy Low appetite Eye/nose discharge red/inflamed eyes Difficulty breathing Neurological signs like tremors, stiffness, seizure, lack of coordination, or blindness If your cat shows any of these symptoms, the FDA recommends immediately contacting their veterinarian. All products included have either been recommended by an expert, are an NBC Select staff-favorite, or are highly rated with a 4.0 or higher rating from hundreds of reviews. This dry cat food is an NBC Select Pet Award winner for its high protein formula and fiber blend, which helps cats maintain a healthy weight, according to the brand. NBC Select reporter Zoe Malin regularly feeds it to her cats and likes that it's made without any artificial flavors or preservatives. Another Pet Award winner, this wet cat food from Hill's Science Diet is made with lean protein and whole ingredients like carrots, rice and spinach, according to the brand. The lean protein can help your cat to maintain or lose weight, and it's made without artificial colors or flavors. This dry cat food was formulated specifically for cats with sensitive stomachs. It's made without any artificial flavors or preservatives, corn, wheat, soy or poultry by-product meals, according to the brand. It also includes prebiotics to help support digestion. Malin's cats love the tender texture of this cat food from Fancy Feast, which is made with a protein-rich formula and without any colors or preservatives, according to the brand. Malin also likes that this cat food comes in a variety pack, which makes it easier to switch things up for cats that are picky eaters. Why trust NBC Select?
