Texas finds itself in a position few, if any, would have expected entering the 2025 NCAA baseball tournament — fighting for its life in the regional round.
The No. 2 seeded Longhorns will look to avoid a stunningly early elimination in the Austin Regional on June 1 when it takes on UTSA at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The game's a rematch of Texas' 9-7 loss to its in-state foe on May 31, a loss that put coach Jim Schlossnagle's team on the brink of getting bounced in the double-elimination tournament. It's the third meeting between the programs this season, with the Roadrunners winning the previous two. The Longhorns are 44-11 against all other opponents in 2025.

Texas has already fought off elimination Sunday, defeating Kansas State 15-8 to knock the Wildcats out of the tournament and earn a second chance at UTSA.
Should the Longhorns earn some revenge against the Roadrunners, the two teams will square off again June 2, with the winner advancing to the super regional round.
