The North Course's 16th hole is the final par-3. CARLSBAD, Calif. — The 2025 NCAA Men's Golf Championship is underway. Thirty of the top men's college golf teams from across the country are at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa's North Course in Carlsbad, California, battling it out for the right to become national champions. Auburn is the defending national champ, and the Tigers return to Omni La Costa as the No. 1 team in the country off a win at the NCAA Auburn Regional. But there are numerous teams looking to knock Auburn from the top, and in match play, anything can happen. But first, teams will battle it out over 54 holes of stroke play, where the top 15 teams advance to Monday's final round. After 72 holes, the top eight teams make match play. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be contested on Tuesday, with the championship match set for Wednesday. Texas Tech men's golf advances to fifth straight NCAA national tournament

Calum Scott broke par for the third day in a row and the Texas Tech men's golf team finished fifth at the NCAA Urbana Regional on Wednesday, May 14, qualifying for the NCAA championships final competition for the fifth year in a row. Scott, low amateur at last year's British Open, followed up rounds of 3-under 68 and 2-under 69 with a 1-under 70 Wednesday at the Atkins Golf Club in Urbana, Illinois. The senior from Nairn, Scotland, finished in a three-way tie for fifth place, four strokes back of individual medalist Hunter Thomson from Michigan, whose 4-under for the second day in a row took him to 10-under. Advertisement Tech sophomore Ben Gregg (69-74-71) tied for 21st at 1-over, and freshman Connor Graham (71-73-71) tied for 27th at 2-over. Tech sophomore Tim Wiedemeyer (71-71-74) finished 3-over, tied for 34th, and senior Charles DeLong (71-76-73) was 7-over, tied for 46th in the field of 87 players. Advertisement Illinois, playing on its home course, and No. 1 seed Oklahoma State tied for the Urbana Regional title at 15-under. The other advancing teams are Nevada-Las Vegas, which finished 6-under, Troy (2-under) and Texas Tech (1-under). Missing the cut in sixth place was North Carolina, which came in with a No. 10 national ranking and No. 2 regional seed. The Tar Heels finished 7-over. Thomson was the individual qualifier.
