Stoney's Bar & Grill is expanding to another Denver neighborhood
DENVER (KDVR) — The popular Denver bar known for hosting sports games and pub food is opening in another Denver neighborhood this spring. Stoney's Bar & Grill is a local joint that's a go-to spot for fans looking to catch the latest game on screen or those looking for a classic bite, and it's slowly becoming a franchise. Originally positioned in the heart of the city, the Capital Hill location expanded to more locations in North Capitol Hill and Winter Park. Denver's Grizzly Rose expands to Colorado Springs Now, the restaurant is taking over 1565 Raleigh Street, what was once Sloan's Lake Tap & Burger in the West Colfax neighborhood, about two blocks from Sloans Lake. According to restaurant owner Stoney Jesseph, the new location will look fairly similar to Sloan's Lake Tap & Burger, as it was already built as a sports bar, but the restaurant will undergo some renovations. Jesseph said it will be the same concept as the other locations with roughly the same menu, although every restaurant's menu varies a little bit. 'Our concept is a little different from Tap & Burger, so we're pretty excited for the neighborhood. We do a little bit more during the week with Taco Tuesday, Wing Wednesday, big trivia night on Thursday, big happy hour specials,' said Jesseph. 'So we think our price point's a tad bit lower, and we got a little bit more going on for neighborhoods. So we're pretty excited to dive into another neighborhood-y spot.' Award-winning ramen shop to close after nearly a decade in RiNo due to rising costs Jesseph said the team's hoping to be open by early March, or at least in time for March Madness, the NCAA Division One men's basketball tournament. This isn't the only sports bar opening up soon. The former Blake Street Tavern recently announced its reopening as Tavern on Blake Street, which will open on Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies.
