Nets draft talk: 4 players to watch during NCAA Tournament Elite 8

Nets draft talk: 4 players to watch during NCAA Tournament Elite 8 The Brooklyn Nets are nearing the end of their 2024-25 season and while they are still trying to end the season on a good note, their eyes have to be focused on the 2025 NBA Draft. Brooklyn has as many as five picks in the Draft, including four picks in the first-round, meaning that there are plenty of players for the team to evaluate as the season comes to a close. Most Nets fans are understandably concerned with the Nets' own draft pick given that the pick has the potential to give them Duke forward Cooper Flagg, the most coveted player in the upcoming draft class. However, there are other players in the first round that will most likely be on Brooklyn's roster for the beginning of next season and valuable picks can also be made later in the first round. Some players expected to be selected highly in the draft, such as Rutgers guard Dylan Harper and forward Ace Bailey that did not make it to the tournament in the first place along with players like Texas guard Tre Johnson who has already been knocked out of the Tournament. Here are four players for the Nets to keep track of that will be playing in the Elite 8 on Sunday: Jase Richardson, Michigan State, G After the way Richardson played for Michigan State once he entered the starting lineup, it's understandable why he is expected to be selected in the Lottery. Richardson had a performance against New Mexico that he would like to forget, but he bounced back in a strong way against Ole Miss with 20 points on 75.0% from the field while grabbing six rebounds as well. Johni Broome, Auburn, C Broome was one of the best players in college basketball this season as he was an All-American for an Auburn team that achieved the first seed in their region. Broome is expected to be taken towards the end of the first round or the beginning of the second round due to some of his athletic limitations, but he has a game ready for the NBA with the way that he can play in the post on both ends of the floor. Chaz Lanier, Tennessee, G Lanier is another player expected to be taken somewhere in the second round due to his age (23 years old) and lack of an all-around skill set on the offensive end of the floor. However, the way that Lanier can shoot the ball, he's shooting 45.8% from three-point land on 8.0 attempts per game heading into the Elite 8, will lead teams to take a chance that he can shoot the same way in the NBA with better spacing. Milos Uzan, Houston, G Uzan has been impressive for the Cougars in the Tournament as he is averaging 15.0 points and 5.7 assists per game heading into the Elite 8. With Uzan expected to be a second-round pick in the upcoming draft, he has the chance to improve his draft stock after the way that he's been shooting the ball as he is shooting 51.6% from the field and 69.2% from deep.
