NCIS: Origins Exclusive: Future NCIS Los Angeles Office Boss to Appear in Season 1 Finale
CBS' NCIS: Origins will serve up another blast from the NCIS-verse's past before breaking for the summer. As TVLine previously told you, the Season 1 finale — airing Monday, April 28 and titled 'Cecilia' (as in Special Agent 'Lala' Dominguez's actual first name) — will find Gibbs (played Austin Stowell) facing a reckoning when the murder of Pedro Hernandez is unearthed. More from TVLine Britt Lower and Milo Ventimiglia Join Netflix's Harlan Coben Thriller I Will Find You Amber Ruffin Will No Longer Headline White House Correspondents' Dinner Casting News: Mary Steenburgen Joins Husband Ted Danson's Netflix Comedy, PLL Vet Is Elle Woods' Enemy and More Arriving at NIS' Camp Pendleton office to potentially facilitate that reckoning, TVLine can exclusively report, will be Military Police investigator Lara Macy — who in NCIS lore some 18 years later will be Special Agent in Charge at the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles. SAC Macy was introduced in the backdoor pilot for NCIS: Los Angeles, which aired as the NCIS Season 6 two-parter titled 'Legend.' Louise Lombard (CSI) played Macy in that two-parter, but when NCIS: LA got officially ordered to series, her character was replaced with Linda Hunt's Operations Manager Henrietta 'Hetty' Lange. Claire Berger, whose credits include Netflix's The Midnight Club, will play MP investigator Macy in the NCIS: Origins finale, TVLine has learned. Berger's Lara Macy is described as an ambitious investigator with sharp instincts and a relentless drive for justice. She is hoping to advance her career and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo, especially in a male-dominated world. But with Lala (Mariel Molino) and Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid) banding together to try and protect Gibbs — and given the deplorable things that Pedro Hernandez did to cause Gibbs to avenge the deaths of his wife Shannon and daughter Kelly — Macy will have a tough call to make. NCIS' Returning Character Revealed! LL COOL J to Guest-Star in Episode 18
The NCIS-verse just can't quit LL COOL J. CBS revealed on Thursday that the NCIS: Los Angeles vet will reprise his Sam Hanna role in the mothership series' April 21 outing. TVLine has confirmed that will be Episode 18 of NCIS' current 22nd season, presumably making LL COOL J the 'someone from NCIS' past' that cast member Brian Dietzen previously teased as an upcoming guest star. 'Back on set, baby! NCIS. Let's get it,' he announced in the below Instagram video: View this post on Instagram A post shared by The NCISverse (@ncisverse) LL COOL J starred as Sam Hanna in all 14 seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles, which ended in May 2023. He later brought the character to the now-cancelled NCIS: Hawai'i for its entire third season; the reason for Sam's presence in Hawai'i was a mystery for several episodes, until he revealed to Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) that he was there to train a new action team called NCIS Elite. And in what would be that spinoff's series finale, Sam's work was done and he returned to the mainland, after a festive goodbye party was thrown in his honor. 'The idea of Sam joining our show was pitched by the studio/network after LA ended,' NCIS: Hawai'i's co-showrunners told TVLine exclusively in July 2024. 'We were fully on-board, both because Sam was a great character, but also because LL COOL J is a wonderful human. The chemistry he shared with our amazing lead, Vanessa Lachey, was so compelling, we had hoped to keep it going for many seasons to come.' Sam has previously popped up on NCIS, too, in Season 6 and Season 20. NCIS resumes Season 22 on Monday, March 24, with Episode 15. The long-running series has already been renewed for Season 23, along with NCIS: Origins (for Season 2) and NCIS: Sydney (Season 3). Looking forward to seeing Sam Hanna again?
