The card offers a secure, cashless travel solution and aims to eliminate queues at ticket counters. The launch event was held in the presence of state CM Devendra Fadnavis and DCMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and other top dignitaries. The NCMC card will also be interoperable across Metro Lines 1, 2A, and 7, as well as with other transport systems such as the Chalo bus service. Cards issued by these operators can also be used at Line 3 stations, ensuring a unified transit experience. Existing NCMC cardholders can begin using cards on Line 3 from June 11. New users can get the cards at any of the seven Line 3 stations or designated SBI branches. The cards will be issued for free with a mandatory initial top-up of Rs 100.

CMU Provost Dr. Rita Gulstad, NCMC President Dr. Lenny Klaver and several other officials were present at the signing event. With the resigning of the articulation agreement, school officials formalized efforts to provide a seamless transfer from NCMC to CMU for students. Eight locations marked for digital parking system, MCD invites bids
NEW DELHI: As part of its larger plan to digitise civic services in Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has chosen eight locations, including two clusters, to introduce digital parking systems. In the first phase, the system will be launched in the Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar clusters. The aim is to allow smooth, cashless payments—through FASTag for cars and digital apps for two-wheelers. The MCD has invited bids from agencies to manage these parking spots using digital systems. The eight identified sites are Nehru Place (Outer and Inner Rings), Shastri Park, Kashmere Gate ISBT, Okhla Industrial Area Phase-I, Narela DDA Market, Lajpat Nagar Cluster (Central Market, Veer Savarkar Marg, Old Double Storey Road), Karol Bagh Cluster (Ajmal Khan Road, Bank Street and Arya Samaj Road). According to the tender, the selected agency will handle daily operations, use digital technology, collect parking charges, and manage on-ground staff. They must also install RFID readers, FASTag scanners, boom barriers, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, UPI/NCMC payment terminals, digital boards, and CCTV cameras. For two-wheelers, where FASTag doesn't apply, payment will be done using QR codes, UPI apps, or NCMC cards. The agency must also ensure that all transaction data is shared in real time with the MCD through a central dashboard. This will help the civic body monitor vehicle movement, revenue, and parking space availability live. A revenue-sharing model will be followed—MCD will get a fixed share of the daily earnings while the agency handles operations. Only companies with prior experience in digital parking systems for government or municipal bodies can apply. They must show proof of technical skills, financial strength, and experience with systems like FASTag, RFID, and UPI. Once fully in place, the system is expected to reduce long queues and traffic jams, especially in busy areas like Nehru Place, Lajpat Nagar, and Kashmere Gate ISBT, the official added.

Congrats, grads!: NCMC hosts commencement, Nurse Pinning ceremonies
PETOSKEY — North Central Michigan College hosted its two biggest celebrations of the year on Friday, May 9. Both the annual Nurse Pinning and commencement ceremonies took place at the college's Petoskey Plastics Arena, with hundreds of students receiving their diplomas and celebrating with their friends and families. The traditional Nurse Pinning allows the graduates to be pinned by loved ones welcoming them into the field of nursing. Each graduate had short letters of thanks read aloud to the crowd, and together they read the International Pledge of Nurses. Later that evening, the arena filled again for the main commencement ceremony, where NCMC graduate and Schoolcraft College's Chief of Staff Beth LaForest served as the keynote speaker. Stafford Smith, founder of Stafford's Hospitality, and Dudley Marvin, who became president of Stafford's Hospitality in 1980, both received honorary degrees of Community Service during the ceremony.
