NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) has reached a significant milestone in its green hydrogen project at Oxagon, Saudi Arabia. This joint venture includes Saudi utility giant ACWA Power, U.S.-based Air Products, and NEOM, the developer of Saudi Arabia's ambitious smart city project. The construction has now completed 80% across all key project areas, including the hydrogen production plant, wind garden, solar farm, and transmission infrastructure. Once fully operational by the end of 2026, NGHC plans to operate the world's largest green hydrogen plant. This facility will produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen daily, significantly contributing to reducing global carbon emissions. Installation of Vital Equipment Underway The NGHC stated that installation of vital equipment is currently underway. This includes wind turbines, hydrogen storage vessels, electrolysers, cold boxes, and pipe racks—critical components needed to bring the plant into operation. The project is powered by a combination of solar and wind energy, with 4 GW of clean energy capacity targeted for completion by mid-2026. The first shipments of green ammonia—a transportable derivative of hydrogen—are projected to begin in 2027. Saudi Arabia - NEOM Green Hydrogen Company has announced that work is moving at a steady pace on its mega plant coming up at Oxagon in Saudi Arabia's northwestern region with 80% work completed across all its sites - the green hydrogen facility, wind garden, solar farm, and transmission grid. NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is a joint venture between Saudi utility major Acwa Power, US group Air Products and NEOM, the developer of Saudi Arabia's mega futuristic city. When fully operational at the end of 2026, it will be the world's largest green hydrogen plant producing up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free fuel daily, thus marking a significant milestone in the journey toward a greener future. Giving a project update, NEOM Green Hydrogen Company said its milestone equipment, including wind turbines, hydrogen storage vessels, electrolysers, cold box and pipe racks, is being currently installed. "Our project continues to advance rapidly - with 4 GW of solar and wind power generation scheduled for completion by mid-2026, and first ammonia product availability expected in 2027," said a company spokesman. NEOM announces Hidden Marina as the first phase of The Line
Saudi Arabia's megaproject, NEOM, has been hitting headlines. Now, it has announced Hidden Marina, which is the first phase of The Line. The 2.5-kilometre-long development will be built over 21 million square metres of space on the Kingdom's western coastline. Hidden Marina will be the first segment of The Line, which will rise 500 metres high and cover three interconnected modules. The site aims to feature 9,000 hotel rooms and 80,000 residential units and bring together 200,000 residents. Plus, the site will be home to retail spaces, fire stations, schools, police and security services. Denis Hickey, the Chief Development Officer of NEOM, at the PIF Private Sector Forum in Riyadh, explained: 'The project, a bold step in redefining urban living, will introduce a fully integrated, vertical city built in modular 800-meter sections. With a built-up area surpassing 21 million square metres, the scale of Hidden Marina is unprecedented, dwarfing global benchmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, which has a built-up area of just 350,000 square metres'.
