Russell Wilson Forming Surprise Connection With NY Giants Player
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The New York Giants are working their way through OTAs and preparing for a critical training camp later in the summer. This year marks the first full season of the post-Daniel Jones era in New York, and the Giants are banking on Russell Wilson being a major piece in helping them bounce back. While only so much can be revealed in spring practices, Wilson has earned enough praise to add some excitement to his upcoming training camp with the team. Giants wideouts Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton revealed to the media last week that Wilson's ball has been "better than expected." "That deep ball really drops right in there... Comes in like a pillow... really easy to catch," Robinson told reporters, according to Madelyn Burke. #Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson says the first time Russell Wilson threw to them, he and Darius Slayton said 'this is better than we expected…' describing his style, smiles, 'That deep ball really drops right in there… comes in like a pillow… really easy to catch' — Madelyn Burke (@MadelynBurke) June 5, 2025 Slayton and Robinson will be critical to the Giants' passing attack, as will the second-year star, Malik Nabers. However, another player has reportedly formed a decent connection with Wilson throughout OTAs. According to John Schmeelk, the 2023 third-round pick Jalin Hyatt is establishing himself as an early standout so far this offseason. "Jalin Hyatt seems to be finding an early connection with Russell Wilson," Schmeelk wrote in his Monday observations. "It is worth watching as the Giants figure out which wide receivers make the most sense on the field with the way the offense is going to be developed with Wilson behind center. If it is going to be more of a vertical attack, Hyatt could be ideal in that type of system." Russell Wilson #3 of the Pittsburgh Steelers reacts as he stretches prior to an NFL Football game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on December 21, 2024 in Baltimore, his rookie season, Hyatt appeared in 17 games. He received 40 targets throughout the year, catching 23 of those passes for a total of 373 yards. He didn't reach the endzone at all. Last season, Hyatt's playing time was down. After appearing in over 50 percent of the Giants' offensive snaps during his rookie year, Hyatt played just 33 percent of the team's snaps last year. Naturally, Hyatt's production took a dip. He generated just 19 targets, which resulted in eight catches for 62 yards. The Giants' receiving core needs stability in 2025. Considering Wilson's experience, it's clear the Giants are confident that the former Pittsburgh Steelers passer could be a major difference-maker on offense, despite the fact that he's likely a one-year rental. In 11 games with the Steelers, Wilson completed 64 percent of his passes. He threw for 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions. The narrative surrounding Wilson suggests he's a long way from his Seattle Seahawks days, where he stood out as a multi-time Pro Bowler and an NFL Champion, but the Giants believe there is still enough gas left in the tank for the 36-year-old to have an impact.

Jayden Daniels Reveals Thoughts on Frustrated Commanders WR
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Before he reaches year two in the NFL, Washington Commanders wide receiver Jayden Daniels is watching a potential holdout situation play out. If Terry McLaurin feels he has to force his team's hand to offer him a new deal, it could directly affect the sophomore passer. Fortunately for the Commanders, Daniels hasn't lost his focus. He remains in good standing with his All-Pro weapon and, ultimately, understands that the business side of the game sometimes overshadows the rest. Recently, Daniels spoke on the situation involving McLaurin, which includes an absence from minicamp. PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - NOVEMBER 14: Jayden Daniels #5 of the Washington Commanders celebrates after a touchdown during an NFL Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on November 14, 2024 in Philadelphia,... PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - NOVEMBER 14: Jayden Daniels #5 of the Washington Commanders celebrates after a touchdown during an NFL Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on November 14, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More"Me and Terry have a good relationship outside of football," Daniels told reporters recently, according to Pro Football Talk. "Obviously, he has to handle what he has to handle, but that doesn't change anything, the fact that he is part of our brotherhood. We know Terry is working and everything. We have to get better, and he knows he has to get better each and every day." Commanders head coach Dan Quinn didn't have much to say on the matter outside of confirming that he's been in contact with the star wideout, and claims that McLaurin has had a "great offseason," based on their discussions. What's the Latest on the Terry McLaurin Saga in Washington? On Thursday, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported that McLaurin has "made it clear" to the Commanders' organization that he's frustrated with the lack of progress in contract discussions. Sources: #Commanders All-Pro WR Terry McLaurin has made it clear to the team that he's frustrated with the lack of progress on a long-term deal. As I previously reported, McLaurin unexpectedly left voluntary workouts after initially attending, and it remains to be seen whether… — Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) June 5, 2025 McLaurin, who's entering the final season of his current contract, does not have an extension in place. Clearly, the star wideout wants to lock in a new deal before heading into the 2025 NFL season. Securing money for the future, while eliminating the distractions of talking shop throughout the year, should be a priority for a team that hopes to make a deep postseason run in 2026. While McLaurin's absence at minicamp recently was notable and seemingly part of plan to make a push for a new deal, he was required to attend. When it comes to June 10-12, those are the dates to really keep an eye on. According to Schultz, McLaurin's plans for attending the mandatory phase of minicamp are unknown. "It remains to be seen" is the messaging coming from reports. While the situation is far from ideal, the Commanders remain in a good spot, especially since Daniels is seemingly comfortable with the situation. The last thing Washington wants to do is find a reason to break up the duo. In 17 games with Daniels under center, McLaurin thrived by catching 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns. For the second time in his career, McLaurin was a Pro Bowler. He was voted Second-term All-Pro in 2024.

Six stories shaping the Miami Dolphins' 2025 roster rebuild
South Florida Six stories shaping the Miami Dolphins' 2025 roster rebuild The Miami Dolphins are entering the 2025 offseason with a critical focus on rebuilding their roster after a disappointing 2024 campaign. Key themes include addressing durability concerns for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, whose injury history necessitates acquiring a reliable backup, and improving both the offensive and defensive lines, which underperformed in key moments last season. Investments in younger, more consistent talent are essential, particularly in the trenches, where the team struggled to dominate opponents. Additionally, decisions regarding free agents like Calais Campbell and Jevon Holland will shape the defensive strategy, while reshaping the run game and improving short-yardage efficiency remain priorities for revitalizing the offense. With draft capital in hand, the Dolphins have an opportunity to reset deficiencies and aim for sustainable success. Watch new Titans' guard Kevin Zeitler practicing footwork while his wife is in labor
Watch new Titans' guard Kevin Zeitler practicing footwork while his wife is in labor Newly acquired Tennessee Titans guard Kevin Zeitler has been around the league for over a decade. He's played for a handful of different teams, but coming to Nashville is different. He was born and grew up in Wisconsin, the edge of the Midwest. He's a blue-collar guy with a down-to-earth personality and solid work ethic, which will fit in well in Nashville where he already has family. Speaking of his work ethic, this guy never misses a moment to work on his technical skills. His wife is in the hospital, in active labor, and he is working on his footwork. The best part about this is not that it showcases his dedication to his craft, but that his wife is totally cool with him working on his game while they wait for the baby to come. As someone who refused to turn off Sunday NFL Football until they took me for a Cesarean and had a friend managing my fantasy football team while in labor, I can totally get behind Sara Zeitler's support of her husband. This is no different than a businessman working on his laptop while his wife is in labor. In fact, Zeitler is probably more in tune with his wife than the businessman on the couch because there's no complex thinking involved here; it's repetition and building muscle memory. The Titans' fanbase will love having the Zeitlers in town. Not just because Kevin is a giant force to be reckoned with on the offensive line, but because this family is one of the purest out there. Zeitler has moved his family around a bit over the years, and one of the reasons he has continued to be successful is because of how supportive his family is. They'll fit right in when they get to Nashville, and we'll surely see them in the community often.
