City of Watertown reminds public about fake Planning Department emails
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The City of Watertown is reminding the public to be aware of an ongoing email scam. In a press release from the city, officials are advised that fraudulent emails are being sent to citizens claiming that people owe money in order to complete transactions with the planning department. If anyone receives an email asking to send money to the planning department, they are advised to to respond to the email. Instead, please call 315-785-7741 in order to verify the validity of the message. The city advises anyone that has already given money to a fraudulent actor as a result of any type of scheme, to contact the Watertown Police Department at the non-emergency phone number at 315-786-2233. April 5: Massena First United Methodist Church Italian Buffet & Silent Auction
The Massena First United Methodist Church will be hosting an Italian Buffet and Silent Auction on Saturday April 5. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $25 with cash or check accepted. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling 315-769-8036. Keep up to date on the latest events in NNY with our Community Calendar Early viewing and bidding for the silent auction is from March 25 until April 5 with the hours 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon on Fridays. The dinner will have entrees of chicken parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs, vegetable lasagna and fettucine alfredo. Appetizers include bread, salad, beverages and dessert.
