MSME Minister Srinivas emphasises equitable deployment of SERP staff across all districts
Andhra Pradesh Minister for MSMEs, Rural Poverty Alleviation, and NRI Empowerment, Kondapalli Srinivas, has directed officials to ensure equal distribution of SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) personnel across all districts. During a review meeting at the SERP State office on Monday, he observed discrepancies in staffing levels among districts and instructed that all mandals and districts be assigned staff in proportion.
The Minister stressed strengthening Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to enhance farmers' income through training, quality inputs, and value addition. He urged collaboration with institutions like the Center for Catalyst Management Services and others for effective implementation.
He also called for swift action under the Village Entrepreneurship Programme to support SHG members in establishing micro-enterprises. Monthly targets should align with Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana goals. Additionally, he recommended promoting seaweed cultivation with CSIR and the Fisheries Department and establishing shade nets and polyhouses for small farmers through horticulture support.
