Beloved WWE Superstar Switching Brands Sooner Than You Think: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. New creative pitches within WWE reportedly outline a significant move to the Monday Night RAW roster for the accomplished international star and former NXT Women's Champion, Stephanie Vaquer. Sources indicate the current idea being discussed internally is for Vaquer to head to the main roster after the 6/7 Worlds Collide show. This potential call-up would add a highly decorated competitor to RAW's women's division. She would also immediately add star power to the brand. This report about her main roster transition came out just days after Vaquer lost the NXT Women's Championship to Jacy Jayne in a surprising outcome on the May 27, 2025, episode of NXT. Following that impactful title change, other outlets like PW Nexus had already reported that Vaquer was expected for a RAW call-up. This latest information from WWE sources provides a more specific potential timeframe for her transition. It positions her move after her commitments at the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide premium live event on June 7th. At that special inter-promotional show, Vaquer is scheduled to team with fellow NXT star Lola Vice against AAA's Chik Tormenta and Dalys, offering her a final major NXT-associated showcase. Vaquer's journey in WWE began when she officially signed with the company in early 2024, heralded as a major international acquisition. She arrived with an already impressive resume, holding both the CMLL Women's World Championship and the NJPW Strong Women's Championship. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Her ascent was swift; after a competitive feud, Vaquer defeated Fallon Henley at NXT Vengeance Day in February 2025 to capture the NXT Women's North American Championship. This was her first title in WWE. Not content with one championship, Vaquer then entered into a high-stakes rivalry with the then-NXT Women's Champion, Giulia. This led to a monumental Winner Takes All match at NXT Roadblock in March 2025. Vaquer emerged victorious, defeating Giulia to become the first woman in NXT history to simultaneously hold both the NXT Women's Championship and the NXT Women's North American Championship. Though impactful, her reign as a double champion ended with the recent loss of the NXT Women's Title to Jacy Jayne. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

WWE Is Planning To Call-Up Top NXT Stars: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. This week's episode of WWE NXT, on May 27, 2025, delivered a shocking conclusion to Stephanie Vaquer's reign as NXT Women's Champion, as she lost the title to Jacy Jayne of Fatal Influence. This unexpected title change left many WWE fans searching for answers. Still, a report suggests main roster call-ups are imminent for Vaquer and fellow NXT competitor Jordynne Grace, potentially explaining the sudden shift. Vaquer had established herself as a dominant force since her arrival in NXT. The 32-year-old captured the NXT Women's Title in March 2025. Fans expected a lengthy and impactful reign, making her loss to Jayne this week surprising and raising questions about the booking decision. According to Cory Hays, a notable insider from PW Nexus, WWE has plans to move Vaquer to the main roster. She is reportedly "rumored to become a mainstay on WWE RAW and, hence, lost the title to Jayne." In addition to Vaquer's expected move, Hays noted that the promotion also "plans to move Jordynne Grace to the main roster as well," with Grace "reported to move to the Blue Brand [SmackDown] when things are finalized." WWE/Getty Images More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation It remains unclear if these main roster transitions will occur via a yet-to-be-announced 2025 WWE Draft, or through direct signings by General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, similar to the recent arrivals of Roxanne Perez and Giulia. Vaquer officially signed with WWE in 2024 and was immediately tabbed as a talent to watch closely on the NXT brand. She quickly risen up the ranks, earning a shot at the NXT Women's North American Championship. At NXT Vengeance Day earlier this year (February 2025), Vaquer defeated Fallon Henley to capture that title, marking the beginning of her first championship reign in WWE. During her impressive run as the NXT Women's North American Champion, Vaquer found herself in a high-stakes confrontation with Giulia, who held the NXT Women's Championship at the time. The two champions agreed to a monumental Winner Takes All Match at NXT Roadblock in March 2025. Vaquer emerged victorious from that pivotal match against Giulia, becoming the first woman in NXT history to simultaneously hold both the NXT Women's Championship and the NXT Women's North American Championship, cementing her top-star status before this week's title loss. Vaquer also made an impactful appearance on RAW last month, challenging Women's World Champion IYO SKY, while Grace has prior main roster exposure through two Women's Royal Rumble match appearances.
