Cayuga County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a residence in Sempronius for a domestic incident around 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 5.
The girlfriend said that her boyfriend, Norman Dewitt, shot and killed her pet pig during the dispute.
Dewitt is accused of removing the home's security cameras and shooting the pig while a 15-year-old girl was home, the sheriff's office said.
He was then arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal tampering under penal law, along with killing an animal under NYS Agriculture and Markets Law.
Dewitt was arraigned at CAP Court and is now being held at the Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sempronius Court on Feb. 19, according to the sheriff's office.
