Educational guidance cell set up at Tiruchi Collectorate for students
District authorities in Tiruchi have established a guidance cell-cum-control room on the Collectorate premises to help students decide on their options for higher education and increase enrolment.
According to an official release on Monday, the education guidance cell will function under the auspices of the Naan Mudalvan Scheme.
The cell would offer counselling on course choices to aspiring students and their families, besides candidates with disabilities, those living in refugee camps, and those from economically weaker sections of society. Applicants who want requisite certificates can approach the cell for assistance.
Students who have not passed their higher secondary examinations will be helped to gain admission into job-oriented vocational training courses at polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), said the release.
Students would be expected to join only those educational institutions that have been approved by the government.
