CM will inaugurate Nalam Kakkum Stalin Thittam soon, says Health Minister
Health Minister Ma. Subramanian said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin would inaugurate the Nalam Kakkum Stalin Thittam soon.
The Health Minister came to Namakkal on Friday night and on Saturday, he participated in a Health Walk at Namakkal South Government Boys Higher Secondary School. The Minister walked for 8 km along with District Collector S. Uma, MLA P. Ramalingam, District Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Rajesh Kannan and the public.
Later, he participated in a function at Mudalaipatti and inaugurated buildings constructed at ₹2.96 crore and laid the foundation for 13 new projects worth ₹8.30 crore. He also distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries. The Minister inspected the Government Medical College Hospital and interacted with the patients and their relatives at the hospital. Later, he inspected the construction works for the district headquarters hospital at Rasipuram that are taking place at ₹53.39 crore.
At these functions, the Minister said walking 10,000 steps a day would keep the body healthy. So the Chief Minister implemented the health walk scheme in the State and it was inaugurated on November 4, 2023. Soon, the Chief Minister would inaugurate Nadappom Nalam Peruvom 2.0 in 38 districts.
Explaining the health infrastructure provided to Namakkal district in the past four years, the Minister said projects worth ₹360.75 crore were implemented by the Health Department. Construction of 20 medical buildings worth ₹110.95 was going on, including construction of an intensive care unit with 50 beds at Paramathi Velur Government Hospital and the work would be completed soon. Of the 19 district government headquarters hospitals announced for the state, two hospitals were for Namakkal district. Soon, the Chief Minister would inaugurate the Nalam Kakkum Stalin Thittam under which medical camps would be conducted in 1,256 places, the Minister added.
At Rasipuram, the Minister told reporter that, considering the Covid-19 spread, 95,000 beds were kept ready in hospitals. Facilities were available to store 3,000 metric tonnes of oxygen. Medical infrastructure was kept ready to face any situation in the State. People with fever, cold, or cough for days should approach the hospitals immediately. People with low immunity, aged people, and people suffering from hypertension and diabetes were advised to wear masks at large gatherings. Soon, the Chief Minister would hand over appointment orders for filling the vacancies in the department. The vacancies were filled in a transparent manner, the Minister added.
