Southern Command marks 11th International Yoga Day
Pune: All stations of the Southern Command celebrated the 11th
International Yoga Day
with the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' promoting holistic well-being on Saturday morning.
Lieutenant general Dhiraj Seth, general officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Command, led the celebration.
"During the session, the role of yoga in enhancing physical fitness, emotional balance and mental robustness in challenging environments was prominently highlighted. The event underscored the Indian Army's commitment to holistic well-being and operational readiness," stated a statement issued by the defence PRO, Pune.
In collaboration with Isha Foundation and its 20 volunteers from Pune, the session was conducted by four trained Hatha Yoga teachers from the Sadhguru Hatha Yoga Gurukulam.
Participants engaged in a series of structured yogic practices, including Yoga Namaskar for spinal strength, Nadi Shuddhi for cleansing energy pathways and the 7-minute 'Miracle of Mind' meditation—all designed to enhance vitality, mental clarity and emotional stability.
