Clinic told to refund fees for failed hair treatment
Ahmedabad: A consumer commission here has ordered a health clinic to refund fees, and awarded Rs 40,000 compensation to a law student after an unsatisfactory 'New Hair' treatment. The compensation was ordered for the clinic's misleading advertisement and unfair trade practice. This case involved an LLB student from Gandhinagar, Shrey Bodakiya, who opted for 'New Hair' treatment with the clinic in Ahmedabad and paid a Rs 53,000 in April 2023. After undergoing treatment, Bodakiya felt that the purpose of the treatment was not served, and the clinic did not offer free sessions in accordance with the promise made earlier once the treatment did not have the desired effect. Fatal gate collapse: Work begins to alter Siddharth Garden entrance
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has begun modifying the entrance gate of Siddharth Garden and Zoo to enhance safety, following a tragic incident on June 11 where two women visitors died after a portion of the gate collapsed on them. On Friday, the CSMC started demolishing the arch-shaped, dome-like structure of the gate, which was involved in the fatal accident. Civic officials said that a structural audit deemed the existing entrance gate hazardous, necessitating its modification to ensure public safety. The entrance gate, along with adjacent shops and other facilities, was completed on June 23, 2022, under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract. The tragic incident, where the gate collapsed amid heavy winds, resulted in the immediate deaths of two women visitors. In response to the accident, an offence for culpable homicide and other charges have been registered against five individuals associated with Prakash Developers — the private firm involved in the gate's construction. Civic activist Rajendra Datey Patil, who has demanded a high-level inquiry into the accident, said expenses towards modification of the entrance gate of the public garden should be recovered from the private firm. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nagelpilz-Clip bricht Verkaufsrekorde - funktioniert er wirklich? The necessary modification must be made by invoking the clause of the defect liability period mentioned in the BOT contract," he said. Patil also reiterated the demand for action against the civic officials for the June 11 incident. "I had written a letter to the Chief Minister's office (CMO) demanding action against the civic officials who overlooked their duty. The civic authorities should have prevailed upon the private contractor to ensure safety of the entrance gate," he added.
