'Finally got rid of Tom Brady': Buccaneers GM pokes fun at Tom Brady while welcoming Emeka Egbuka
Buccaneers GM pokes fun at Tom Brady (Imagn Images) Just over a week since the 2025 NFL Draft, buzz still surrounds the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ' first-round pick, Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State. The Buccaneers made headlines in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka with the 19th overall pick, a move that signals their commitment to building a dynamic, post Tom Brady offense. From Buckeye glory to NFL spotlight — Emeka Egbuka ready for big stage Emeka Egbuka's selection at No. 19 overall reflects Tampa Bay's focus on adding youthful energy and proven production to its roster. At Ohio State, Egbuka consistently showcased elite hands, precise route running, and the ability to make contested catches in tight coverage. His standout junior year culminated in a College Football Playoff National Championship, where he was a key offensive contributor throughout the season. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing around 205 pounds, Egbuka combines a strong frame with top-tier agility, making him dangerous in open space. He was frequently used in both slot and wideout roles, giving coaches flexibility in how they deploy him. His experience in a high-pressure program like Ohio State's also means he's already accustomed to big-game environments something that will serve him well in the NFL. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nagelpilz-Laser jetzt 69,90€ statt 229€ (Rabattaktion) Heilratgeber Weiterlesen Undo For quarterback Baker Mayfield , Egbuka provides a reliable option who can stretch the field vertically or move the chains on intermediate routes. His yards-after-catch ability could open up new layers in the Buccaneers' offensive scheme, especially when paired with other threats like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Buccaneers GM Jason Licht Talks NFL Draft, Replacing Liam Coen & More w/ Rich Eisen | Full Interview On special teams, Egbuka's 612 kick return yards on just 22 returns in 2024 highlight his vision, acceleration, and fearlessness. These qualities make him an immediate candidate to take over primary return duties, which could significantly improve the Bucs' starting field position throughout the season. Buccaneers GM Jason Licht couldn't hide his enthusiasm following the team's selection of Emeka Egbuka in the 2025 NFL Draft. Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Licht made a light-hearted but pointed remark about the franchise's long-standing connection to Michigan alumni including the legendary Tom Brady. 'To be honest with you, we've had quite a few Michigan people over the years,' Licht said. 'We finally got rid of Tom Brady, John Spytek finally got out of here. We had to sign Ben Bredeson back because we needed, you know, a good player. But I had to offset that with an Ohio State player.' Since joining Tampa Bay in 2020, Tom Brady made an immediate impact by leading the team to a Super Bowl victory in his first season. After three successful years with the Buccaneers, he chose to end his legendary career there, officially retiring in 2023. I see AI not as a threat; rather, as an assistant: Artist Amitabh Sengupta
Artist Amitabh Sengupta may call Kolkata home, but his art is rooted in a journey that spans decades, continents, and cultures. With two exhibitions happening in the city, which kicked off last week, Amitabh brings with him not only canvases, but stories etched in time. In a conversation with Bangalore Times , he reflects on his journey as an artist, his take on AI's use in art and much more. 'MY WORK IS ALWAYS INFLUENCED BY MY SURROUNDINGS' You Can Also Check: Bengaluru AQI | Weather in Bengaluru | Bank Holidays in Bengaluru | Public Holidays in Bengaluru Spanning works from Amitabh's days in Paris to his time in Nigeria in the 1970s and his return to India in the late 1980s, his work is a journey across time and place. 'My work has always been influenced by my environment—be it the forest regions of Bengal, the streets of Chennai, or the heritage sites I visited after returning to India. City walls, street signs, the scratches on old buildings— they all speak to me.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nagelpilz-Laser jetzt 69,90€ statt 229€ (Rabattaktion) Heilratgeber Weiterlesen Undo 'AS AN ARTIST, I WELCOME ALL INNOVATION; AI OPENS UP NEW POSSIBILITIES' Talking about technology, especially the rise of AI in art , Amitabh is extremely optimistic, he says, 'I welcome all scientific innovation, I too use computer graphics, apps, and video editing in my work. AI is a tool — it can be misused, yes, but it can also open new possibilities. It's up to us to decide how we use it. I see AI not as a threat, but as an assistant.' 'BENGALURU HAS EVOLVED, BUT STILL HAS MANAGED TO RETAIN THAT CHARM' Having visited Bengaluru regularly since 1989, the artist has a fondness for the city. 'It was peaceful and green back then, I even considered settling here. Now it's like any other big city—crowded, fast. But it still has its charm,' he says. 'Human figures in paintings shift the focus' One of the striking things about his art is the near-complete absence of the human figure. When asked about why it is so, the artist reveals, 'It's deliberate, once a figure enters the painting, the viewer's focus shifts. It becomes about that person. But I'm more interested in what they leave behind — their structures, their inscriptions, and their impact. Inscriptions are one of my favourite series, the forest imagery, and the mindscapes. I try to present human life symbolically through the sun, the rain, the erosion, stating that nothing is permanent.'

4 arrested for murder in domestic dispute
Indore: Ratlam police on Saturday arrested four people, including three minors, for murdering their relative who was attempting to resolve a domestic dispute at his sister-in-law's house. The investigation revealed that the conflict stemmed from a family dispute over property. The incident occurred when Maya, a resident of Karaliya Machal in Indore, travelled to Ratlam with her elder son-in-law, Mahesh Rathore, and other relatives to help her daughter Urmila, who was facing alleged harassment at her in-laws' home in Manav Nagar. Around 8:30 PM on Thursday night, as they stood near Urmila's residence, a group of youths attacked them with knives. Mahesh was critically injured and later died during treatment at the district hospital. Maya also sustained injuries in the attack, and Urmila's sister-in-law, Jyoti, aged 34, was stabbed as well. The victim's body was sent to the medical college for post-mortem and handed over to the family on Friday. Before transporting the body to their village, the grieving relatives approached the SP and Collector's office to file a complaint against the DD Nagar police, alleging negligence. They claimed the police took Mahesh's relatives to the station instead of prioritising medical attention for the injured. SDOP Kishore Patanwala, who was present at the time, promised a fair and impartial investigation. Digha temple row: Internal probe begins, political war of words escalates
Bhubaneswar: Amid controversy over naming of a newly-built temple in West Bengal's Digha as ' Jagannath Dham ', the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Arabinda Padhee Saturday met various sevayats (servitors) to investigate possible violations, including reports of surplus wood from Puri being used for idol-making at the Digha temple. "An internal inquiry process has commenced, and results will be available soon," said law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan. "If any disrespect to our culture is found, appropriate action will be taken," the minister said and criticised the 'dham' designation, stating, "There are four dhams across the country, and Jagannath Dham in Puri holds significant importance among them." The other three dhams are Badrinath, Dwarka and Rameshwaram. Deputy CM Pravati Parida criticised West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee without taking her name, said, "It's not a CM's responsibility to create a dham or place for Sankaracharya. There are established traditions in Hindu culture . Whoever has tampered with this has to face the consequences," she said. Puri MP Sambit Patra also objected to the naming of the Digha temple. "No other place can be called Jagannath Dham. Purushottam Kshetra and Shri Kshetra are exclusively in Puri, where the Lord himself resides," Patra said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nagelpilz-Laser jetzt 69,90€ statt 229€ (Rabattaktion) Heilratgeber Weiterlesen Undo Former Rajya Sabha member Amar Patnaik and sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik also urged the WB CM to correct the nomenclature and not refer to it as a dham. However, All India Trinamool Congress spokesperson Jay Prakash Majumdar defended the temple and questioned the BJP's stance: "Being a 'Hinduvadi' party, one of their members is raising questions about a Hindu temple. That is the fallacy," he told PTI. The SJTA chief will continue hearing more servitors on Sunday as the investigation proceeds, according to temple sources. The temple administration on Saturday asked heads of all servitor groups to convey their opinion, if any, on the confusing reports about the temple at Digha in writing by Sunday evening. The AITC, in its official X handle, posted a video clip of the temple and wrote, "Digha's Jagannath Temple stands as a serene yet powerful symbol of spiritual heritage. It's towering presence invites every soul to pause, reflect, and revere. Come witness beauty woven in faith!"

Sec'bad stn overhaul disrupts travel of 1L daily
Hyderabad: The redevelopment works at Secunderabad railway station, costing 700 crore, are affecting around 1 lakh passengers daily, with South Central Railway (SCR) shifting or diverting as many as 78 train services from its headquarters to other terminals. There are also plans to relocate a further 30 to 50 trains from Secunderabad to other city terminals. Initially, the railways shifted only 10 trains to alternative terminals such as Cherlapally and Kacheguda. However, due to the ongoing construction of the sky concourse and infrastructure development on platforms 5 and 6, over 70 trains, including special services, have now been shifted or diverted. You Can Also Check: Hyderabad AQI | Weather in Hyderabad | Bank Holidays in Hyderabad | Public Holidays in Hyderabad This change requires passengers to travel an additional 15 to 20 kilometres to reach their boarding points, causing inconvenience to daily commuters, particularly in Cherlapally, due to poor road conditions. For instance, the journey between Secunderabad and Cherlapally, spanning 15 kilometres, now takes nearly an hour during peak traffic periods. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nagelpilz-Laser jetzt 69,90€ statt 229€ (Rabattaktion) Heilratgeber Weiterlesen Undo SCR officials state that the ongoing construction requires foundational work on platforms, which are currently fully occupied with building materials. "Due to these circumstances, operating trains on the affected platforms has become unfeasible. The service disruption is expected to continue for over 100 days until construction activities on platforms are completed," said a senior SCR official. "We have to travel 16 kilometres from Secunderabad to Cherlapally by road, with RTC bus 250C from Keyes High School taking over an hour, followed by a 500-metre walk to the terminal. The lack of adequate MMTS connections from Lingampally/Umdanagar to Kacheguda/Secunderabad/Medchal to Cherlapally has left us, particularly elderly passengers and women with children, reliant on private transport," said Dhanunjay Reddy, a rail passenger. Travellers' associations say that several trains, including the Shirdi Express, Vizag LTT, Janmabhoomi, Kakinada LTT, and Kakinada–Lingampally special trains, will be diverted between Charlapally and Lingampally, bypassing Secunderabad and Begumpet stations. "These services will route via Neredmet, Ammuguda, Bhudevi Nagar, and Suchitra, without any stops along the 35-kilometre stretch between Charlapally and Lingampally," said P Bharadwaj, a member of the Divisional Railway Users' Consultative Committee.
