Watch: Sheikh Mohammed, Sheikh Hamdan meet boy who recited call to prayer at Dubai palace
The Maghrib call to prayer at Dubai's renowned Za'abeel Palace took on a unique touch as a gifted young boy called Nahyan Abdullah Abu Kadra Al Falasi delivered it in a deeply inspiring voice.
Nahyan's visit to the palace highlights the UAE's dedication to nurturing young talents who embrace the country's deep-rooted Islamic traditions.
Nahyan is part of the "Muezzin Al Freej" initiative that aims to strengthen families' role in nurturing national identity and instilling social and Islamic values in new generations by choosing the best voices for reciting the caller for prayer among those aged between 6 and 21 years old.
The name "Muezzin Al Freej" literally means "The neighbourhood's caller to prayer". The effort also aims at fostering children's connection to mosques.
In 2024, the first edition of the drive attracted significant interest, with over 300 young Emiratis participating.
Dubai Media Office shared a video of the caller for prayer recited by young Nahyan. Take a look here:
