Nashik: A car accident in Nashik's Kalwan taluka on Wednesday night claimed six lives, while one man sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment at a private hospital. Inspector Khagendra Tembhekar, of the Kalwan police station, said, "The driver of the car lost control of the car, as a result of which it spun off the road and rammed into the walls of a bungalow, killing five people on the spot. The vehicle was carrying seven passengers when it rammed the bungalow. Members of the Nampur-based Bhadan family and their relatives from Deola were returning from a religious function in Nashik when their vehicle crashed into Vithoba Aher's roadside bungalow. The immediate casualties included Shaila Badhan (62), Sarla Badhan (47), driver Khaliq Mehmood Pathan (50), who is a resident of Nampur, Baglan, Madhavi Metkar (32), and her 4-year-old daughter Triveni Metkar, a resident of Deola. Madhavi was Shaila Badhan's daughter. Bhalchandra Badhan (52), from Nampur, and Utkarsh Metkar (12), from Deola, suffered serious injuries. They were taken to Nashik city hospital, where Utkarsha succumbed to injuries. Bhalchandra remains under treatment in critical condition. Police have released the deceased people's remains to their families. They have registered an accidental death case, which will be modified following the completion of investigations.

5 dead, 2 injured as speeding car rams into bungalow in Nashik's Kalwan

NASHIK: Five people died, while two others were grievously injured in a car crash in Kalwan taluka of Nashik district, which occurred late Wednesday night. The injured were sent to the Civil Hospital for treatment. According to Police Inspector Khagendra Tembhekar, "The driver of the car apparently lost control due to overspeeding, as a result of which it spun off the road and rammed into the walls of a bungalow, killing five people on the spot. The victims included the driver as well." The accident occurred at Kolhapur Phata on Kalwan Nashik road in Kalwan taluka of the district. According to the police, it was around 10:00 pm when the speeding car rammed into the bungalow. The family members of the Nampur-based Bhadan family went to Nashik for a religious function, after which they were returning home in Baglan taluka when the incident occurred. The police said that the car rammed into the bungalow of Vithoba Aher on the roadside. The deceased were identified as Shaila Vasant Bhadan, Bhalchandra Bhadan from Deola and Madhavi Metkar, Triveni Metkar from Nampur, and driver Khalid Pathan also from Nampur.
