Vadodara Rath Yatra: 38-year-old cop on bandobast duty dies of suspected heart attack
A 38-year-old police personnel attached to Harni police station, died Friday of a suspected heart attack while on bandobast duty during the Rath Yatra in Vadodara's Raopura area, said police.
The deceased has been identified as Naresh Rathwa.
Rathwa, a native of Chhota Udepur district, lives in the Pratapnagar headquarters and was with the Harni police station for the last two years.
On Friday, while on duty in the jurisdiction of Raopura police station, Rathwa complained of unease and vomiting, said sources.
The cop was immediately rushed to the Sir Sayajirao General Hospital where he passed away during the treatment, according to the police. Rathwa's family was informed about the incident, following which they arrived at the hospital to take away his body. Later, officials of Vadodara city police, including Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 4, Panna Momaya also reached the hospital to oversee the process.
Rathwa's body was shifted to the postmortem department before being handed over to his family.
