Image used is for representational purposes only AHMEDABAD: A 74-year-old man helped police catch four individuals who allegedly stole his wallet containing Rs 4,000 during an autorickshaw ride. On realising that his wallet was missing, Narshinh Panchal, a resident of Srinath Apartment near Vyaswadi, rode pillion on a stranger's motorcycle and pursued the rickshaw, leading to the arrest of the driver and three passengers. Panchal, who wanted to go to Naroda Patiya, decided to hire a shared rickshaw from Kalupur Circle. The vehicle had a woman and two men on the backseat. On the driver's request, he squeezed himself between the men. After putting up with a few nudges and suspicious fidgeting, he got off at Kalupur Bridge after being curtly asked by the driver to do so. The driver claimed that the other passengers were experiencing discomfort. After the driver left, Panchal realised that his wallet containing Rs 4,000 was missing. He hitched a ride on a stranger's motorbike and began a Bollywood-style chase. He intercepted the rickshaw near Amdupura Bibi Ma's Dargah, noted its registration number and calmly called the cops. Kalupur police arrested the four accused named Sanib Ansari, an autorickshaw driver from Juhapura; Yasmin Shaikh from Shah-e-Alam; Samir Rangrej from Danilimda; and Sahil Shaikh from Sarkhej on the charges of theft and abetment under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
