Oman Air 2nd in MENA for OTP in 2024
Muscat - Oman Air has been recognised as the second most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa Region for 2024 and the top in the Middle East. Achieving an impressive 90.27% on-time performance, the airline not only secured one of the top regional rankings but also surpassed the global winner's score of 86.70%. It's the third consecutive year Oman Air has earned one of the top spots in the region, having scored first in 2022 and 2023. The award was presented to Captain Nasser al Salmi, Oman Air's Chief Operating Officer, by Mahesh Jugoo, Cirium's Head of the Middle East and Africa, in a ceremony. According to Cirium, an on-time flight is defined as one that arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival time. Captain Nasser Al Salmi said, 'Being on time is one of the most important things we can do for our guests, and doing so requires immense coordination and dedication from our entire team. Every effort we make behind the scenes is aimed at ensuring our guests reach their destinations as planned, reinforcing their trust in our airline. We're incredibly proud to be recognised once again and remain committed to delivering a reliable and seamless travel experience.' Jugoo added, 'Congratulations to Oman Air for yet another outstanding on-time performance achievement. The airline's strong operational performance is a testament to their commitment to efficiency and passenger satisfaction.' Oman Air in partnership with Mazoon Dairy for locally-sourced products
Muscat - Oman Air has signed a new agreement with Mazoon Dairy to be the supplier of dairy products, including milk, yoghurt, laban, and cheese. During the signing ceremony, Captain Nasser al Salmi, Oman Air's Chief Operating Officer, said, 'As part of our commitment to In-Country Value (ICV), we are proud to support Oman's food industry and contribute to Mazoon Dairy's mission to enhance local self-sufficiency. This partnership underscores our dedication to procuring locally made products and strengthening domestic suppliers, ensuring that we continue to provide our guests with the highest quality food and beverages sourced from within Oman.' Ali Al-Buali, CEO, said, 'This agreement represents a milestone in our growth journey, expanding our reach on a global scale while supporting our broader vision for national economic development. Today, we offer a diverse range of high-quality products, adhering to the highest industry standards and best practices. We look forward to meeting the expectations of the national carrier by delivering premium dairy products on board.' The initiative is part of Oman Air's broader strategy to contribute to ICV by prioritising local sourcing and fostering partnerships with homegrown businesses. In 2024 the airline collaborated with 323 local Omani companies, including 44 SMEs. Meanwhile, through its Vendor Development Programme, Oman Air supports SMEs in improving their capabilities, contractual performance, and product development. Once onboarding, the airline helps them to scale their products and measure their performance, with the goal of a long-term contract.
