The camp afforded an opportunity to both the athletes participating as well as the Missouri Southern coaching staff.
For the athletes, the camp offered the chance to compete against some of the areas' top prospects while getting advice from current Missouri Southern players as well as coaches.
'It's just getting them kind of mixed in, just like with older guys, like the college kids and then with the younger guys to show them that we're not all so different,' graduate student running back Nathan Glades said. 'We're all still kind of just doing our thing, and relationships are important. So we're just talking and really just introducing them to what it's like to be in a college stadium.'
As for the coaches, this gave the Lions' coaching staff a chance to evaluate some talent in person while gearing up for the upcoming season.

'As coaches, this is why we got in the profession is to work with athletes,' head coach Atiba Bradley said. 'You know, none of us like to sit behind our desk and become a 9 to 5 type job. So this is the fun part. Being able to get out, working with the kids. And so, yeah, this is what we enjoy to do. It seems like August was a long time away, but now it's starting to get close.'
Missouri Southern will host another prospect camp at Fred G. Hughes stadium on July 25 before the 2025 season officially kicks off on August 30.
