Bike to work is returning to Siouxland
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The annual Bike to Work Day is being held this week.
Bike to Work Day is part of a national effort to show folks the benefits of cycling instead of driving. Presented by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the League of American Bicyclists, the goal is to highlight the health benefits of bicycling, by providing a cleaner environment, and saving money at the gas pump.
'You know small steps to change the environment to make things better for all of us, and it saves on gas, and so that saves money, too. So if you're able to do it, come on down. We'd love to see people down there and just kind of, you know, enjoy a community event that way.' said Nathan Kistner, the SIMPCO regional planner.
In Sioux City, Bike to Work Day begins on Friday, May 16, at 6:30 a.m. with a free complimentary breakfast at the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce parking lot.
