Man in custody after fight at baseball tournament
MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One man is in custody after a fight just before 9:00 p.m. at a local memorial tournament celebrating its 20th year.
According to a post made by the Mount Carmel Township Police department, units were called to the Mt. Carmel VFW Baseball Post 2110's baseball fields just before 9:00 p.m. for a disturbance.
Northumberland County Communications reported there was a fight between the reporting party and other ale actors, the caller reported that they were on foot heading towards the baseball fields.
Officers arrived on-scene and were told by multiple witnesses that there was a firearm involved.
Officers then identified the suspects before a foot pursuit started and two male juvenile and one adult man were detained before the juveniles were released, and the man was taken into custody.

Geisinger Hospital Security was contacted and a K-9 was brought in to search for the firearm.
Mt. Carmel VFW Baseball Post 2110 stated in a post that no firearm was found.
The baseball fields were in use for Nate's Mates Tournament, a tournament honoring Nathan McFadden, an 11-year-old who lost his battle with cancer in 2005.
This is the 20th anniversary of the tournament.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
Authorities say there is no threat to the public at this time.
