Florida man's purchase at Dollar Plus earns him $5M
MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man who purchased a scratch-off ticket from Dollar Plus in Miami resulted in a $5 million win, according to the Florida Lottery.
Nathaniel Wrigley, 32, of Miami bought a $20 GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off from the variety store located at 13045 Southwest 88th Street.
Scratch-off ticket worth $1 million sold at Clearwater 7-Eleven
Wrigley chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,960,000. The retailer earned a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The Florida Lottery launched the GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off game in September 2021. It features 32 top prizes of $5 million, 100 prizes of $1 million, and 33,000 prizes ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.65.
Since its inception, Florida scratch-off games have awarded nearly $66 billion in prizes, creating 2,283 millionaires. Roughly $20 billion has been generated for the state's Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
