Mandya: In a strong call to action, deputy commissioner Kumara on Friday emphasised the importance of preventive measures in the fight against dengue fever, describing it as a dangerous yet preventable disease that requires collective awareness and community involvement.

clean environment

With the arrival of the monsoon season, the risk of dengue transmission increases due to water stagnation in drains, containers, and construction sites.
Kumara urged citizens to regularly clean these areas to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes.
Dr K Mohan, district health and family welfare officer, emphasised this year's campaign theme: "Inspect, Clean, Cover." He advised residents to identify potential mosquito-breeding sites, clean them thoroughly, and ensure that water storage containers are properly covered.
