McDonald's doubles down on breakfast with bagel sandwiches
McDonald's said Tuesday that it is doubling down on breakfast by introducing bagel sandwiches nationwide to celebrate the Egg McMuffin's 50th anniversary. From March 3 — 30, rewards members can enjoy a buy-one, get-one-free deal on the Sausage McMuffin with Egg while placing a McDelivery order in the chain's app. The offer is valid at participating restaurants. The McMuffin will always hold the honor of being the first McDonald's breakfast sandwich, but there's always room for more. Lucky for breakfast lovers, the chain just announced that its bagel sandwiches are now available nationwide. Previously, the menu item was only available at select locations, but many customers have been hoping McDonald's would make them more widely available. In March 2024, McDonald's announced it would soon start selling fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts at its restaurants nationwide. As part of the chain's phased market rollout, participating New York McDonald's locations are now serving up the doughy delight. Available exclusively through the McDonald's App on Sunday, March 2, customers can choose between an Egg or Sausage McMuffin with Egg for just one dollar. And if you can't make it on Sunday, from March 3 to March 30, you can grab buy-one-get-one Sausage McMuffins with Egg when placing a McDelivery order through the app. Considering the sandwich typically costs around $6.29 or $6.49 depending on where you live and what type you order, this is a major steal. Compare that to other chains' breakfast sandwiches and you'll want to run, not walk, to take advantage of this deal. Prices can vary depending on location, but Starbucks' bacon, egg, and gouda sandwich, for example, will run you around $6.25, while both Wendy's sausage and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches clock in around $4.69. Chick-fil-A's bacon, egg, and cheese muffin goes for about $4.50 and Dunkin's plain egg and cheese muffin is over $7. Even with the 2-for-1 McDonald's deal, you're looking at only roughly $3 per sandwich—almost half the cost many competitors. With grocery store limits on how many cartons of eggs you can purchase and people considering buying their own chickens, this killer deal couldn't come at a better time. In honor of its 50th, McDonald's has an exclusive offer on Sunday's National Egg McMuffin Day. On Sunday, you can get an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin with Egg sandwich for a $1 each. The offer is exclusively through its App. Eggs too pricey, but you still want to bake?
