Jointly established by China's National Marine Environmental Forecasting Centre and Hainan's oceanic administration, the centre aims to develop a robust multi-hazard warning system covering tsunamis, marine heatwaves, harmful algal blooms, and other oceanic threats. It is also intended as a platform to promote international collaboration in marine forecasting and early warning efforts.
