Honey trapped, law student lodges FIR after miscreants demand Rs 51 lakh
Lucknow: A law student has lodged an FIR with the Chowk police, alleging that he has been honey trapped by a gang of extortionists, who are demanding Rs 51 lakh for not releasing his doctored videos on social 25-year-old law student stated in his complaint that he is currently pursuing law and belongs to a respected family—his uncle also serves as a local to the victim, around two months ago, he received a friend request on Snapchat from a user named 'Sumbul_Kamaal,' who claimed to be a BCom student at National PG College. She entered his car and requested they move to a nearby parking lot. Once there, she allegedly began undressing, and before he could react, six armed men appeared, banged on his car windows, and threatened to frame him in a false case unless he paid up. Nat'l College set tolaunch two courses
Lucknow: The academic council of National PG College on Friday approved launch of two new courses from the upcoming session and addition of new topics in syllabus for history in undergraduate. The two new courses include Master of Science (MSc) in geoinformatics with 40 seats. This programme is designed for graduates from various fields including geography, science, engineering, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, environmental science and agricultural science. Besides, the journalism department will launch Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC) with 40 seats. This is a shift from the previous system where the credit system did not specify a uniform requirement for each semester. The changes are aligned with the UGC's 2025 regulations and aim to streamline academic standards across higher education institutions. The meeting also saw approval of the proposal allowing students with science background to pursue MA/MSc. geography. Earlier, it was necessary for candidates to have geography and topogradhy as subjects in undergraduate for elligibility to this course. Devendra Kumar Singh, NGPC principal, said, "The introduction of MSc geoinformatics and MJMC along with the amendments to the credit system, reflects our commitment to providing students with relevant, future-oriented education."
