The Ministerial Council Discusses Ongoing Preparations for Hosting the Arab Summit

Baghdad-INA The Ministerial Council for National Security discussed on Wednesday the ongoing preparations for hosting the Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on May 17th. The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Numan, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired the regular meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which the overall security situation in the country and a number of topics on the agenda were discussed, and the necessary decisions and recommendations were made." The meeting included a discussion on the ongoing preparations to host the Arab Summit, scheduled to take place in Baghdad on May 17. The National Security Ministerial Council reviewed the latest developments in preparations for this significant event. The National Security Ministerial Council approved the Iraqi National Security Strategy (2025–2030), along with its implementation plan. The National Security Ministerial Council also reviewed the progress of the Criminal Justice Data Integration Project, discussed the work of the technical committee overseeing the project, and emphasized the need to achieving rapid digital transformation to complete transactions. They also addressed the distribution of responsibilities among criminal justice institutions and the adoption of a unified crime classification system, which will support Iraq's international standing through compliance with relevant United Nations resolutions."
