Prince William County offers safe way to dispose of pills
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The nationwide prescription 'Take-Back' initiative is coming to Prince William County on Saturday.
On April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Prince William County Police Department, Manassas City Police Department, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and community groups are joining together to provide individuals with a safe way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medicine.

Unused prescription drugs that are thrown away can be retrieved and used or illegally sold. They can also contaminate groundwater, soil and water supply.
Prescription and over-the-counter solid-dosage medications will be accepted. Vape pens and e-cigarettes will also be accepted after batteries have been removed.
Liquid solutions, injectables, needles, hydrogen peroxide, compressed cylinders (asthma inhalers, for example), iodine-containing medications and thermometers will not be accepted. Substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine will also not be accepted during National Take-Back Day.
