"Prime Minister felt that the world needs to know truth of what happened in Pahalgam..": Supriya Sule
Addis Ababa [Ethiopia], May 31 (ANI): The all-party delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SCP) MP Supriya Sule met with Tagesse Chaffo, Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia, and members of the House on Saturday. They also delivered remarks on Operation Sindoor and India's united stance against terrorism. While speaking at an interaction with Tagesse Chaffo, Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia, Supriya Sule said, 'The reason of this entire trip is about this attack that was made on India's soul in Pahalgam where we lost 26 people- innocent tourists who were on vacation. The Prime Minister spearheaded a project called Operation Sindoor. A part of that project is an outreach program. We have seven groups from all parties. It is a multi-party delegation and we are here as Indians. We have kept all our ideologies aside because when it comes to terror, I think we are all on the same page and our Prime Minister felt that the world needs to know the truth of what happened in Pahalgam and what India's stand is. We are looking to reach out to all our friends around the globe to tell them the facts and how we can all work together to stop and eradicate terrorism from this universe...' The all-party delegation had earlier interacted with the Peace and Security Council of the African Union at its Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The delegation's mission is to showcase India's resolve against terrorism and garner international support for a united stand against this global threat. The Indian government's diplomatic outreach efforts aim to strengthen partnerships with countries in East and Southeast Asia, emphasising the need for a collective response to the threat of terrorism. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian armed forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding regarding the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)

"Attack on India's soul is just not accepted": Supriya Sule stresses zero tolerance on terror in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa [Ethiopia], May 31 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SCP) MP Supriya Sule, who is leading the all-party Indian delegation visiting Ethiopia, met with former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Saturday and discussed bilateral cooperation, regional development, and the global fight against terrorism. Speaking after the meeting, Sule called the interaction 'excellent,' lauding Desalegn's five-decade-long engagement with Ethiopia's political and economic landscape. 'They have seen a lot of conflict here. They have seen ups and downs in their economy and growth. But under his leadership, they had double-digit growth and many infrastructure projects--be it beautiful dams, railways, industrial parks,' Sule noted, drawing parallels between India and Ethiopia's shared developmental aspirations. 'We had a detailed discussion and told him what happened in Pahalgam. The attack on India's soul is just not accepted. And we all must commit ourselves to zero tolerance against any terrorism anywhere in the world. India will not accept any terrorist attacks anymore,' Sule stressed, underlining the main theme of the delegation's engagements across the region. Sule also welcomed Ethiopia's inclusion in the G20 during India's presidency last year, calling it a significant milestone in India-Ethiopia ties. 'It's very important for us to come here today to talk to them. We were very warmly received and reassured that in this journey of eradication of terrorism, Ethiopia still stands together solidly with India,' she said. Commenting on Ethiopia's bilateral relations with Pakistan, Sule said that terrorism must be opposed globally, regardless of geopolitical alignments. 'I think globally, everybody agrees that there has to be zero tolerance against terrorism. So I think we are very hopeful that when it comes to terrorism, we all stand united, whoever the other country may be, but we will not accept any terrorism anywhere in the world anymore.' Meanwhile, echoing similar views, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, a member of the delegation, highlighted the need for decisive action against terror-sponsoring states. 'We don't find the difference between terrorist organisations and the states sponsoring terrorism, we see the similarities in them. We will not be restraining ourselves, but for the security of the country, for the safety of the country, we will try to eliminate the threat of this terrorism wherever it is in whichever country that is sponsoring it,' he said. The all-party delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule, arrived at Bole International Airport in Ethiopia on Friday, where they were received and welcomed by the Ambassador of India to Ethiopia, Anil Kumar Rai. The delegation concluded its diplomatic visit to South Africa with a series of meetings involving political leaders, think tanks, and the Indian diaspora at India House in Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. The delegation includes NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule, Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Singh Sahney (AAP), Manish Tewari (Congress), Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Anand Sharma (Congress), V Muraleedharan (BJP), and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin. The visit, part of India's broader diplomatic outreach following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, aimed to deepen bilateral ties and convey India's firm stance against cross-border terrorism. Operation Sindoor Outreach: Supriya Sule's Team In South Africa Spells Out India's Anti-Terror Stance

India conveyed a clear message that its strikes targeted only the terror hubs in Pakistan, and stressed that it has never shown aggression against another nation. This response came after Pakistan-backed terrorists brutally killed 26 people, mostly Indian civilians, in cold blood on April 22 in Pahalgam. The delegation aimed to expose Pakistan's terror activities and assert that any attack on India would be met with equal force. 'We were asked multiple questions about India's response, and we wanted to tell the people in South Africa that this is the new normal in our country. If anyone tries to bleed us, we will hit back in equal measure," a source told CNN-News18. 'This is a big exercise to sensitise the world and inform them that this will be India's policy moving forward, so they should not be surprised if India retaliates to protect its people." The delegation, led by Sule, met Anna Moraka and Alvin Botes, deputy ministers of international relations and cooperation of South Africa. They also engaged with local politicians, think tanks, social media influencers, and the diaspora. Supriya Sule said during her visit, 'We have come to South Africa to inform its people about what happened in India five weeks ago. There was a brutal attack on India's soul; 26 innocent people on vacation were shot. It's a very unfortunate incident. India has always sought peace, harmony, and growth in the neighbourhood. This attack shocked us all. India has always led globally for peace, and the deep friendship we have with South Africa, the country of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela—two global icons of non-violence—makes us feel very close to South Africa." India and South Africa share many common interests, including a commitment to non-violence. Both countries also had military cooperation in the late noughties and a shared love for cricket. MP Manish Tewari, during his visit, said, 'The parliamentary delegation visited Constitutional Hill, which used to be a jail where Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were imprisoned for years and tortured after their arrest. We came here to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. The scenes at the jail and the descriptions given to us demonstrated that independence was attained with great difficulty and after torture to several generations. This is a living example that during apartheid in South Africa, people of Indian and African origin were treated barbarically, like animals." Apart from Supriya Sule, the delegation includes former union ministers Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, and V Muraleedharan. TDP's Lok Sabha MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and former permanent representative of India to the UN, Syed Akbaruddin, are also part of the delegation.
