Koz, Wayanad, Kannur & K'god on orange alert today
Kochi: All districts in the state are under alert for heavy rainfall and strong winds for the next seven days.

has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the state.
A red alert for extremely heavy rainfall of more than 20cm has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod on Saturday.
Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod are on red alert on Sunday, while Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad are on red alert on Monday.
Fishermen have been warned not to go to sea as squally weather with wind speeds of 35-45kmph, gusting to 55kmph, is prevailing along and off the Kerala coasts until Monday.
Strong westerlies are likely to prevail over Kerala and the Lakshadweep area in the lower tropospheric levels. There is a wind warning for the state until Monday. Strong surface winds with speeds occasionally reaching 40-50kmph are likely on Friday, while winds with speeds occasionally reaching 50-60kmph are likely to prevail in the state until Monday.
According to the 24-hour rainfall recorded on Thursday morning, Kudulu, Muliyar and Bayar in Kasaragod recorded 9cm of rainfall, while Palluruthy got 8cm. Naval Base Airport in Kochi, Kodungallur and Kalamassery received 7cm.
