Pahalgam Attack a Brutal Assault on Humanity, India should give a befitting reply to Pakistan promoting terror in Kashmir

Mahabubnagar: The Youth Welfare Organisation of Mahabubnagar has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a brutal assault on humanity and a threat to national unity. Organisation president Khalid Naveed stated that terrorism has no religion and must be countered with a firm and united response. He urged the government to give a befitting reply to Pakistan promoting terror in Kashmir and killing innocent to disturb peace and communal harmony in the country. He described the April 22 attack, which killed 26 and injured over 20 others, as a horrifying betrayal of human values. 'Militants disguised as soldiers targeted Hindu tourists after verifying their religion. Such acts are not just crimes against the nation, but also insults to Islam, which upholds peace, justice, and the sanctity of life,' Naveed said. He lauded the role of local Kashmiri Muslims who risked their lives to save victims, donated blood, and rushed the injured to hospitals. 'Their actions prove that humanity transcends all barriers,' he added. Naveed also demanded that the Indian government give a befitting reply to Pakistan, accusing it of fuelling cross-border terrorism and attempting to disturb peace and communal harmony in the country. He urged citizens to unite against hatred and safeguard national integrity with compassion and solidarity.

Naveed Raza's first film was never released

In an interview with Imran Ashraf, Naveed Raza revealed that he worked on a Syed Noor film that never saw the light. He began by sharing that he once participated in a Lahore talent show, which he ended up winning. "My winning prize was starring in a Syed Noor movie. It was called Price of Honour, but it never got released." He added that the film had long wrapped up production. "It was properly shot for 30 days, non-stop. I went to Shabab Studios daily. When I wasn't acting, I'd be behind the camera," he said. The Teri Behisi actor also mentioned that around the same time, he assisted the production of another one of Noor's films. "It was called Jugni, if anyone remembers it. It had Moammar Rana and Shaan." Dialing back to his own forgotten project, Naveed said, "The funny thing is, I went to Karachi and started believing I was a star. I had done a film by Noor sahab, so I expected my phone would be ringing constantly. I left my job in the Health Ministry because I believed my career was about to launch." However, the Chalawa actor didn't hear back for six months. "Nobody seemed to remember the film was ever in production. I kept wondering, 'So many A-listers came to the show. Everyone saw it happen. Why is this happening now?'" Naveed recalled calling up the filmmaker, only to be reassured that the film was coming soon, though that never happened. He recalled giving up two months in, as his hopes of achieving his dreams began to wane. Admitting that the disappointment drove him to tears and sleepless nights, he said, "I was so sure that I would support my father through his retirement." Eventually, Naveed took charge of his life again and, down the line, met up with Humayun Saeed, who offered him his first drama serial, Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain. "Humayun said, 'You're going to do my drama.' And that was all that needed to be said."

Man Who Shot At Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan In 2022 Jailed For Life

Lahore: A Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Saturday handed down life imprisonment on two counts to a man who shot at and injured former prime minister Imran Khan in November 2022. The Gujranwala Anti-Terrorism Court announced its verdict in the Imran Khan attack case. A court official said prime accused Muhammad Naveed has been convicted not for injuring Khan but other offences. "Naveed is sentenced to life imprisonment under charges of terrorism and the murder of Khan's party (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf) activist Moazzam. He was also slapped with a fine of PKR 500,000," the official said. The official said Naveed has been sentenced to imprisonment for up to five years for injuring four individuals. The court, however, acquitted Naveed on the charges of injuring Khan and eight others as they didn't appear before the court to join the proceedings. "Despite repeated summons by the court, Khan and eight others did not appear before the court," the official said. The court acquitted two co-accused -- Tayyab Jahangir Butt and Waqas. All sentences against Naveed would run concurrently. Khan suffered bullet injuries on his right leg during the assassination attempt by two shooters during a political rally in Punjab province's Wazirabad area, some 200 km from Lahore, in November 2022. One person was killed and over a dozen suffered injuries in the attack. Khan had blamed a top ISI official, then prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and ex-interior minister Rana Sanaullah for making a plot of his assassination. Khan had filed a police complaint against them but FIR was not registered.
