The upcoming music fest marks the first East Coast event for OUTLOUD, which describes itself as 'the leading LGBTQ+ music brand.' According to a press release, OUTLOUD debuted as a digital-only series in 2020 and has since grown into a live event series that aims to celebrate LGBTQ+ artists and provide a platform for up-and-coming queer performers. 'In today's political climate, it's more important than ever to uplift queer voices and provide a platform for LGBTQ+ artists,' said OUTLOUD founder and executive producer Jeff Consoletti, who originally hails from Boston, in a press release. 'Bringing the OUTLOUD Music Festival to my hometown of Boston is a surreal and full circle moment for me, a moment that isn't lost in today's climate of hostility towards my LGBTQ community.'
OUTLOUD Boston is co-produced by live event and entertainment agency JJLA, as well as concert promoter The Bowery Presents. Josh Bhatti, senior vice president of The Bowery Presents, said in a press release that his organization is 'proud to partner with' OUTLOUD on the event, noting that it's 'so important for our company to continue to celebrate LGBTQ+ artists in the Boston area and beyond.'
