Neenah Foundry fire still under investigation for cause, additional details provided on response efforts
NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The fire at is still under investigation by officials; however, additional details are rolling out. The Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue shared an official release regarding the massive fire, which saw official responses at around 8:23 p.m. on Thursday. Department of Natural Resources warning Wisconsinites over statewide Air Quality Advisory due to Canadian wildfire smoke The first units responded and found heavy smoke and flames from the top of a sand tower, and neighboring fire departments arrived. The fire was extinguished within two hours of the crews' arrival. Engine Companies stayed on the scene for about another hour to observe any possible spots for fires to rekindle and to clean the equipment. The fire's cause is still under active investigation. Initial reports say the sand tower's damage estimates are unavailable at this time, but that it suffered extensive smoke and fire damage. No injuries were reported. BREAKING: Massive fire at Neenah Foundry, crews actively responding to scene
NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The fire at the Neenah Foundry is still an active situation, with crews on the scene for response efforts. Initial photos show heavy amounts of black smoke and flames from the building. The Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue told Local 5 that the initial calls and dispatch were around 8:38 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, and that a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was requested; however, officials could not provide more details. Department of Natural Resources warning Wisconsinites over statewide Air Quality Advisory due to Canadian wildfire smoke The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office confirmed the fire as well, but couldn't provide more information. As of 10:02 p.m., Local 5 has not spoken with any firefighters on the scene, as the scene is active. Water is still being sprayed at the scene as crews attempt to clear the flames and smoke. NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue responded to a fire at an apartment building in Neenah on Tuesday morning, citing at least $30,000 in damages. According to the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue, the fire was reported in a kitchen at a four-unit apartment building in the 1000 block of Cecil Street around 10:30 a.m. Police provide update on search for 20-year-old Chicagoan missing after boat flipped in Wisconsin River A crew was already doing neighborhood inspections nearby and quickly arrived on the scene. The fire reportedly caused 'significant' damage estimated at over $30,000 to one upper unit. Some water was transferred to the unit below; however, no damage was reported outside.
