Here are 10 foods she suggests reducing or eliminating from your diet to lose weight. 10 Types Of Food That Can Hinder Your Weight Loss Journey, As Shared By Neha: 1. Sugary Foods & Drinks: Sodas, candy, desserts, sweetened yoghurts. Why: Consuming high amounts of sugar can lead to insulin resistance, causing your body to store more fat, especially around the midsection. 2. Refined Carbs: White bread, white rice, pasta, baked goods. Why: Refined carbs cause a spike in blood sugar levels, followed by a crash, leaving you feeling hungry and sluggish, and ultimately leading to weight gain. 3. Trans Fats: Packaged snacks, margarine, fried foods. Why: Trans fats increase inflammation in the body, which can slow down your metabolism and make it harder to lose weight. 4. Sugary Cereals: Frosted cereals, and granola with added sugar. Why: Many breakfast cereals are loaded with added sugars, refined carbs, and artificial ingredients that can sabotage your weight loss goals. 5. High-Calorie Snacks: Chips, cookies, candy bars. Why: These snacks are often high in calories, added sugars, and unhealthy fats, making it easy to overeat and hinder weight loss efforts. 6. High-Fat Dairy: Full-fat cheese, cream, whole milk. Why: Consuming high amounts of saturated fats from dairy products can lead to weight gain, particularly if you're not balancing your diet with regular exercise. 7. Excessive Alcohol: Beer, sugary cocktails Why: Alcohol is high in empty calories, which can contribute to weight gain, particularly around the belly area. 8. Processed Meats: Sausages, bacon, hot dogs Why: Processed meats are high in saturated fats, sodium, and preservatives, making them a recipe for weight gain and bloating. 9. Fried Foods: French fries, fried chicken, deep-fried snacks. Why: Fried foods are high in calories and unhealthy fats, which can lead to weight gain and increase your risk of chronic diseases. 10. High-Sodium Foods: Canned soups, instant noodles, frozen meals. Why: Excessive sodium consumption can lead to water retention, bloating, and discomfort, making it harder to stick to your weight loss plan. Did you find this weight loss transformation impressive? Speaking on The Durex Podcast, she shared how difficult it was to shift people's perceptions and prove her versatility as an actor. Neha also addressed the backlash she faced for her 'It's her choice' comment on Roadies, revealing that even after eight years, trolls continue to bring it up. She expressed frustration that the context behind her statement was never truly understood, adding that it often feels like she's walking on eggshells. The 'It's Her Choice' Controversy Neha clarified that her controversial 'It's her choice' remark on MTV Roadies was misunderstood. She explained that her intent was to highlight a woman's right to make her own choices — something she believes is the essence of true freedom. The comment, made in response to a contestant's situation involving a woman with multiple boyfriends, was widely misinterpreted as justifying infidelity, but Neha insists it was about supporting autonomy, not actions. The actress shared that entering her 40s has been a turning point in how she views herself. She now prioritises her own well-being and feels more confident in her skin than ever before. Recalling the tough phase after her pregnancy, she opened up about gaining 25 kgs and dealing with trolling and self-doubt. Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia spoke about how her early choices in the film industry led to her being boxed. (Also Read: Shows like 'Adolescence' make us reassess, recalibrate as parents: Neha Dhupia) Neha spoke about being trolled for her 'It's her choice' comment on Roadies and how she was typecast in Bollywood. She said, 'Without social media also I was also kind of judged for those kind of films I did early in my career, even when I did only one or two of them. I had to change paths, and that hard part was to make people believe in me. Just because I did a movie like Julie back in the day, doesn't mean I can't do a mainstream comedy film. I felt like I was walking on eggshells later. It's been eight years since the 'It's her choice' thing happened, and even now, if I go wrong anywhere, trolls flood the comments with the same thing. Nobody understood the context of what I was trying to say.' She explained that the context she was trying to set was that a woman is allowed to have choices, which is the ultimate freedom. She said this in reference to her comment made to one of the contestants on MTV Roadies, where she was perceived to be justifying a woman having five boyfriends. She said that, in her 40s, she has started prioritising herself and becoming more comfortable in her own skin. She recalled how Angad made her feel supported when she gained weight after pregnancy. 'As an actor, when I gave birth, I gained 25 kgs, but my husband made me feel beautiful. He would compliment me all the time. In my head, I used to think that I'm jobless right now, whenever I step out, I get trolled, and my clothes don't fit me. I came from a background of beauty pageants, and these things used to matter to me, I am not going to lie. But now, finally in my 40s, I feel like those things did not matter, and I feel the best version of myself. Today I feel my sexiest.' Angad and Neha tied the knot in a gurudwara in a hush-hush wedding that surprised many. The couple welcomed their first child, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, in November 2018, and their second, Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, in 2021. Meanwhile, Neha is currently part of Roadies XX as a gang leader, alongside Prince Narula, Elvish Yadav, Rhea Chakraborty and Gautam Gulati. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show is set to conclude on June 1.
