NEET-UG marred by biometric authentication issues in A'bad

1 2 3 4 5 6 Ahmedabad: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET-UG ) was marred by biometric authentication problems at several examination centres in the city on Sunday, causing significant delays and distress among candidates. Around 85,000 candidates took the exam across the state. Some centres, equipped with limited biometric systems, forced students to wait for some time before they were allowed to proceed to their exam halls. Multiple centres reported technical glitches in the biometric attendance system, with many students being initially denied entry due to authentication failures, particularly those with outdated Aadhaar cards. The situation led to protests from concerned parents, necessitating police intervention at locations including LD Engineering College. Chemistry and biology sections were average in terms of difficulty for most, though some found biology section to be lengthy and organic chemistry to be a tad difficult. Experts believe the difficulty level, especially in physics, could lower overall merit and reduce shared ranks. The exam was held in 566 cities in the country.
